As a grown man, would your reaction to her excitement be the same now as it was then?

It's just not good.
I think this is a great choice. Way too many Hollywood inside jokes. I found myself annoyed and bored by the end.

I just watched Once Upon a Time in Hollywood.

Bored out of my mind for 90% of it.

Enjoyed the basic look and feel of a Tarantino film, but just didn't get into this flick at all.

Dagger straight to my heart.

It's not the bloodbath or zany stuff of many of his films until the very end. But I love period pieces and the style and vibe and dialogue and the character arcs, not to mention the behind the scenes stuff on set were just perfect to me. Even the Spahn ranch stuff. It's a slower burn for Tarantino but I loved it.

Same. So many good scenes & lines in this movie. My second favorite Tarantino movie behind Pulp Fiction.
I can see why some don't like it, definitely a slow burn.

Might actually be my favorite Tarantino film.

Here's my list which I don't believe have been mentioned.

Titanic - who wants to contract a menstrual cycle?

Cast Away - Good premise but absolutely terrible ending. At least get some poon from the chick who's delivery package you've been holding onto for all these years. I'm pretty sure the package had a satellite phone in it.

American Beauty - Mena Suvari, the prude from American Pie is naked? I'll give it a watch. Fast forward to now & Kevin Spacey really is a total creep.

Honorable mentions:
- Fast and Furious
- Donnie Darko
- Australia

Didn't he end up with her though? Could have sworn after he tried to get back with his wife he then ended up with chick whose package he had?

He didn't, he dropped off the package on her front porch and while he was looking at his map for directions at the intersection of the gravel roads, she stopped by in the old pickup to ask if he was lost. As she drove away he noticed the angel wings on the back of her tailgate.

But the ending was ambiguous one of those where you get to decide. And in my version he clearly goes back to her farm they fall in love and he lives there with her in peace.

The one thing pointing to that being the intended ending is the apparent divorce with the exes name gone from the sign over the farm gate. there is zero reason for them to show that except to imply she is available. And we know he is.

Just re-watched that scene. How have I never noticed that?

Yes, thank you. This must be the implication I had in my subconscious that I'm remembering. I recall the intention was pretty clear.

Yeah, I forgot that one. Rocky and Rocky II.

I literally tend to think of the 70s in terms of the big move of that year, usually 2 one drama and one comedy

1970 - Patton and MASH
1971 - Clockwork Orange
1972 - Godfather
1973 - Exorcist and American Graffiti
1974 - Godfather II and Blazing Saddles
1975 - Jaws and Rocky Horror Picture Show
1976 - Rocky and The Bad News Bears
1977 - Star Wars and Smokey and the Bandit
1978 - The Deer Hunter and Animal House
1979 - Alien and The Jerk

I'm going off script, but MASH was a great movie while the TV series sucked and is the most overrated TV series of all time.

The Coffin scene is so disturbing to me. I understand the dark humor but my goodness... More depressing than a 21 gun salute.

The Force Awakens. Admittedly I didn't want it to be made, and obviously they botched what came after, but just as a movie itself, eh. Han Solo's death was bull****.

You can blame Harrison Ford for that one - the only way he was going to be in it was if they killed him off.

I kinda figured going in, but the writers had the responsibility to make it work.

Blegh. Enough has been said about the sequel trilogy. I still haven't seen episode 9, and nobody really tells me I need to.

LOTR

Come at me bro.

A complex, universally loved book trilogy about the battle between good and evil, friendship, compassion, and overcoming adversity, with themes of Christianity while also being a masterclass in imaginative linguistics, adapted painstakingly over 3 years with no spared expense, whether that be filming locations, committed acting, practical and special effects, writing, scoring, or overall film length. An almost impossible feat.

Yeah, definitely overhyped.

I was literally the opposite. Went into it not very excited about it but though, "what the hell, I guess i'll give it a shot." I ended up really enjoying it.

We could always use another voice bashing that abortion. Watch it. You must choose a side.
