Yep, I have those on my list as well as The Eyes of the Dragon and Everything's eventual.

I should probably add that with Insomnia, it's well written and the story is good, I think I was just expecting too much and will probably revisit it again in written book form rather than the audio version.

Well crap. I just bought Will of the Many and y'all aren't giving me much hope to even pick it up. Regardless, I have 48 other books sitting unread so I may never get to it anyway.
Absolutely worth reading. I really did enjoy it and would be sad if I hadn't. But its just one of those stories that don't need to be extended for me. But I also suspect I'll be glad to read the second, just not in a hurry to.

Enjoy Lonesome Dove! Such a great read and hits on every emotion. Gus McCrae might be my favorite literary character of all time.

This. I am so glad I finally read it a few years ago. I've always loved the miniseries but the storytelling and character development in the book are flat out incredible. One of my all time favorite reads for sure.

The Dark Tower short story called The Little Sisters of Eluria in Everything's Eventual is really good.

Also, the actual short story Everything's Eventual has modest ties to the Dark Tower.

However the one story from EE that really stuck with me is called "The Road Virus Heads North." Extremely unsettling.

I really enjoyed Will of the Many. The ending/beginning of Strength of the Few is a big twist, and it took me a while to get into it, but I enjoyed it.

First book of Suneater down. It was a reread for prep to get into the rest of the series. Enjoyed it, again. Once again amused at how on the nose it is with it's "inspiration" of Dune, however.

Do yall read more than one book at a time? Starting the second book in a bit but sister also wants me to read A Boy's Life with her so I'll do that as well. I used to read multiple books simultaneously when I was younger but went mono as I got older. Just curious how yall do it.

Typically I'll have three books going at once. The main read is on my IPad Kindle app, which gets the majority of my attention. There is a book on my phone Kindle app which I'll read while waiting for appointments or some other type of similar situation. There is also a book on my Kindle, which doesn't get as much attention. Right now there is an Agatha Christie book I started last year which isn't very compelling, so I may just skip on to the next one, so it's a perfect way to have an alternate that doesn't require a lot of concentration.

I'm in the middle of Sun Eater book 2 on Kindle right now. I typically have a paper book and a Kindle book going at the same time, but lately I've been pretty linear on one format at a time and mostly in Kindle. I'm jumping over to two other Kindle books after I knock this out before I come back to it Sun Eater 3. I still have dozens of hardbacks I look at with almost dismay because there is so much I want to read that I get analysis paralysis.

Both book 1 and book 2 have been same for me. Slow to get me going but once I get 30-40% into it I've really enjoyed it.

Richard II by William Shakespeare. Starting a re-read of the Henriad, though it's been a very long time since I first read those plays.

I drift between one and three like lurker. Depends on mood and how into a particular book I am. Most of the year I was reading one on kindle and phone and listening to a second while driving/walking. Then I did my reread of Red Rising and switched to having it going on all formats.

I kind of bogged down on suneater at the start of book four. Need to try and get it going again.

Just started the final book of Sun Eater yesterday, had to break up the series with some other books in between book 5 and book 7. I will say that the series kind of volleys back and forth between keeping me fully engaged and then having to really force myself to finish some of the books. It's just uneven and meandering at times

There is definitely a lot of internal thought monologuing by the main character.

Yeah, i can't tell you how many times i've paused and thought, man, this really is just Dune with lightsabers. As you get further into the series you'll notice more "inspiration" borrowed from other popular books, but for the most part it works.

Same for me. It took me a few tries to get through book 1, but the ending finally hooked me. Then i blew through Howling Dark and Demon in White. Then i hit a wall about 1/3 of the way through Kingdoms of Death. Took me about 2 months to finish it. Taking a break from it now and checking out some other stuff before i dive back in.

Currently reading Children of Time. About 1/4 of the way in and its pretty interesting so far.
