But what an amazing recovery. Missed a few beats of course but that takes a lot of focus. Lucky she recaught it or it would have been a tough time to reach for a replacement.

so all of 2112 and then Time Stand Still tribute and then MP but skipped Tom Sawyer and put it last?!?!?!?!! I guess they really wanted to close with that one.
One odd note - they cut Set 2 short by 1 song compared to all other nights (even when playing all of 2112). It is usually 10 songs like Set 1 and counting 2112 as one song regardless of whether it is all or some parts.
However that has to be the first time ever to play all of 2112 and all of Moving Pictures in one set!!!! Or even in one concert that I know of.
With Mexico City shows close but not the same as LA Night 3 and 2 respectively, that makes this the 7th unique setlist in 10 shows. Crazy.
With that show being postponed twice, looks like they made it a special one by doing all of 2112 and MP as a way to treat the fans.

The visual/graphics/pyro on this tour is out of sight. Each song has it's own complete integrated theme and using huge displays behind, above, and in front of the stage periodically as it drops down in front. But its kick ass.
Part of my amazement with the different setlist is that the visual presentation is seamless - not sure if the entire thing is programmed in with the setlist as planned and they are just hitting GO on a song by song basis or what but its been nails.
Anyway just to say that integrating what they have here into a 180 degree wraparound experience like the Sphere would be unreal. I'm sure they got guys working on that already if that is truly happening.
But kudos to the graphics designers and engineers and stage design too.
The production of the "show" is beyond anything they have done in the past.

Yeah I have seen a few of those as well, both in the live show I attended and watching other shows people have posted. As a old guitarist, I know my brain doesn't react as fast at what needs to be done. But given how syncopated and complicated his parts are, I smile at marvel that a musician his age, …can do what he does. I showed this posted video to my 30 year old daughter and her husband, who aren't familiar with Rush, and they were amazed that a man that looks like a grandpa can rock like that. It truly is phenomenal . Never thought I would see that again.

1. They, and especially Geddy, sounded great. I was nervous going in but he exceeded my expectations. He sounded strong and looked very confident when he was going into those higher notes. Loved it.
On this point, I'll admit to being WAY wrong (10/6/25: "As a lifelong devoted fan, I'll probably go, but I thought they ended at the right time and the right way. Geddy's vocals had been challenged (I'm being nice) the last 10+ years so it's concerning what they'll be now. Maybe the 10+ year of not touring will have helped. Even Alex admitted his playing had fallen off considerably at the end.").
2. Annika was/is amazing. I loved watching her. She beats the heck outta the kit. Frankly, I don't know how she does it physically for 2+ hours.
3. The general vibe from the whole stage was one of pure joy. They were all smiling and laughing non-stop and that made me happy to see the guys like that. While I will always love Neil, I can't say that smiles and laughter were aplenty in the past. Also just loved how the guys were always goofing with Annika, even during the songs. Just made me smile troughout the show.
4. Some of the people at the show,... some things I'll never understand, and here's the old man yelling at the clouds.
a. Why do people wear other band t-shirts to a concert? I'd think this would be especially a non-thing at a Rush show. I saw an AC/DC shirt (in the front row right in front of Alex? To me, that's disrespectful.). Poison!, Tool, Pink Floyd, (I love them too but wouldn't wear to a Rush show), Testament. I don't get it.
b. Saw a woman wearing an Arkansas Razorback hoodie while in the VIP lounge. She ends up sitting right in front of us, middle front row. She NEVER stood up the entire time. She spent 3 hours looking at Facebook and streaming the World Cup on her phone. Oh, of course, she did take a video during Tom S. Those seats had to be ~$3k.
5. I was concerned about my wife's back making it through the show but she was a trooper. (She also snagged a set list!) She felt like crap afterwards and Sunday but I was proud of her. Now, however, she is thinking she probably can't do the pit in Florida later this year. If anyone's interested in her ticket, let me know.
All in all, a great night. A 10/10, memory making evening. No regrets.

On the "other band shirts at the show" point, I think somehow the line in PCU ( You're wearing the shirt of the band you're going to see? Don't be that guy,") stuck in our heads (for us olds), ha!
That said, I think Rush is a bit of a unique animal, and I think Rush attire is most certainly accepted and encouraged!

Some guys aren't allowed to travel without their wives. I used to work with a guy who had to bring his wife on every Vegas work event because he had previously run up a huge CC bill at a Gentleman's Club.
There are some women who want to attend an event because they want the man to spend money on them. So, she probably didn't care about Rush but she knew the tickets were expensive and that's what mattered.
Most recently, at the June 28th, FW show, the lady sitting in front of me fit that category. She just about died when I said before the show that it was going to be close to 3 hours long. She was not thrilled to be there.
Likewise at the June 7th LA show, I had people sitting by me who had all paid $900+/seat and a couple of the people it was their first Rush show.
When I lived in Denver in the early 2000s and had access to Club Seats for the Avalanche and Rockies (via a friend), I would see people all the time who I can't imagine how or why they spent that much money to be in those seats. The one time I had Club Seats for the Broncos, it was because my neighbor gave them to me because he couldn't make it and he had gotten the tickets for free through work anyway.
And the other part of it is like many of us on this thread have been through. You bought 4 tickets 8 months ago, thinking you had some attendance commitments from friends and then as you get closer to the show and it's time for your friends to pony up the cash, you wind up with an extra ticket or two on your hands.
So, that lady in the $3,000 seat might have been there as a favor to her husband/boyfriend because somebody else flaked out on him.
Anyway, yeah... people watching at concerts, that's half the fun.
Neil Peart actually wrote about this in one of his books. He talked about seeing fans wearing shirts of bands that were good (or complementary to Rush). But he also talked about seeing fans wearing shirts of really terrible bands and he thought - how can they like us and also like that terrible band. He didn't name specific names.TP Ag '87 said:

Has there been any news about the band recording these shows for an official release in the future? I know they have released several live albums but I would love one of this tour, even if it's a compilation of the best performances from throughout the tour.
They have been doing one after every tour. I'm sure it will happen for this one.

Yes specifically Cleveland shows in September.
Aimee Mann after LA shows said something about returning in September in Cleveland because they would be filming those shows.
I guess it was a little less than committing to that but when asked about returning she said:
"I'm going to try to," she says. "They're doing some filming in Cleveland, so I'm probably going to the Cleveland shows. They're going to be on tour for, what, a full year? I would love to do more. I just got a million ****ing things I'm doing, so I don't know how practical it is, but if I have the time, I'm up for it."
Last night was night 1 in Chicago and they played LA Night 1 setlist.
So maybe back to the regular rotation after that kind special last FW setlist that was double rescjeduled.
