More people will put Gladiator or Dark Knight over Lord of the Rings.

FOTR and ROTK are in an epic battle ,but neither one of them has a shot in hell against Ledger, Bale, Eckhardt, Freeman, and Cain. Just facts.

An epic journey across the world to destroy a magical ring is much more believable than acting like Maggie Gyllenhaal is attractive

I'm a Dark Knight superfan, but damn, that's POTD material right there.

In all seriousness, it will be a tough call for me. I love both movies. Dark Knight is hands down my favorite superhero movie. My second favorite is the Batman so you can understand I'm a Batman dork.

But LotR FotR is such an amazing movie and I've rewatched that movie much more than DK.

Actually somewhat envious of you. TDK is one of those things that you wish you could rewatch for the first time.

Over the years, FotR has pulled further away from the other two, for me. FotR is a perfect movie and is by far the best adaptation of the material to film, imo.

I love the other two and think each has things in them that are perfect, but FotR is just so good. I think RotK just gets the recognition because it's the finale. Over the last 22 years, I have grown to really dislike the Army of the Dead "I Win" button as well as Gandalf being made out to look like a weakling in front of the Witch King. And the neutering of Faramir is the biggest sin in the entire franchise.

And this is coming from someone who LOVES everything about Rohan from the book and the movies.

The changes made in FotR are all perfectly fine, imo.

It came out my summer of morning sickness hell.

I was in line to see it opening day, and vomited and fainted in line.

I assumed that was a sign and never tried to see it.

But I guess I can see who streams it.

Should have a thread about movies we never saw in the theater due to having young children. The Avengers and TDKR for me.

Never understood the love for No Country for Old Men. Good movie, but the fact it's in the final 4 shows how high some people regard it, which I don't get. I personally think O Brother Where Art Thou and True Grit are better movies, in this century.

I think Hell or High Water is better than all of them.

Strongly disagree, but those are fine movies.
