95% of audiences will have never seen those interviews, and will have zero awareness of the behind-the-scenes-drama in general. Rather, they're families simply looking to get out of the house and get their kids in a theater for two hours, who aren't chronically online and could not care less about this nonsense.
How many more threads like this are there going to be, where a bunch of grown ass men complain about a Disney movie for kids (little girls, specifically), say it's going to bomb, only for it to eventually make a **** ton of $$$. This has to be, like, the fourth or fifth time we've done this, and no one has learned their lesson yet.
Yes, this movie looks terrible. Yes, the whole dwarf thing has been ridiculous every step of the way, from Dinklage's comments through to the final, atrocious product. Yes, Zegler has been annoying. The only fascinating thing about any of this is the Israeli/Palestine conflict somehow playing out, in meta fashion, via a Snow White movie.
But none of that is going to stop this movie from making a **** ton of $$$.
In fact, between this, Michael - the new Michael Jackson biopic dropping a month later - and Minecraft in between, I'm predicting one of the biggest springs of all time at the box office, come next year. I won't be watching a single one, but fail this movie will not.
Disney's "Snow White" is being called "one of the best live-action remakes in years" in strong first reactions.

Michael ended up getting pushed to fall, so no this will not end up being the highest grossing spring anymore. I don't know how that's a "gotcha," though. That said, against all odds, reactions for Snow White are through the roof so far. With no other kids/family movies for weeks, I still say it does fairly big numbers…Disney's "Snow White" is being called "one of the best live-action remakes in years" in strong first reactions.

Inflation since 2023, when TLM released? Ticket prices haven't risen in any meaningful way since then, at least not to the degree that would support your argument. You guys are grasping at straws now.

Dogman and Minions are some of the worst that come to mind that I had to sit through.jenn96 said:The Original Houston 1836 said:

This really can't be emphasized enough. The vast majority of the moviegoing public has paid no attention to any of the shenanigans about this movie and will simply see that there is a live action Snow White, it will probably occupy their kids, and it can't possibly be worse than Cocomelon.
Now, if it's genuinely abysmal, word-of-mouth will sink it in a week or two. But with no real competition, it does have a chance to do pretty well in the long-term.
