I didn't watch the whole set, but from what little I've seen, his delivery seemed off. Like he was holding back a bit, but then said the thing anyway.

His set at the Tom Brady roast was masterful, that's the audience he needs to perform in front of.

Even more evidence that using Jeselnik is a dumb comparison because both of them also blow him out of the water in terms of popularity. Clearly all three got more laughs.

Tony rips page from Vince McMahon playbook when he sent one of his guys to smack John Stossel at Madison Square Garden 40-years ago.

End result was more eyeballs tuning into the WWF. People that wouldn't otherwise watch wrestling see Stossel getting slapped on 20/20 and tune in to see the drama. They talk about this int he Netflix doc on McMahon that just came out and Tony is a student of the showmanship game.

Last night there was 100K+ watching the kill tony stream which may be the highest we've ever seen.

Had no idea who he was till I saw all the clips of his appearance at MSG for Trump so I came to this thread...saw you mention Jeff Dunham and I know he's huge among the folks I know in the Christian radio world, so it tracks (to me) that I'd be guessing Tony will be just as huge for that sector.

To be fair, I doubt that many people in the audience even knew who Tony is. Tony's material works when his audience WANTS to hear roast type comedy. Political rallies probably aren't a great place for that.

The clip of Rickles roasting Regan and others was at an inaugural event, not a rally.

I agree with your general premise about who does and does not have a sense of humor. And I love the Kill Tony show. But Tony definitely did not kill it at the rally. There seemed to be very few laughs.
