Ted and succession ending is sad
I took his quote as basically him saying, "This is probably the end but who knows....I might change my mind in a month or so".

I really hope not. We don't need 6 seasons of every show.
Also, there is a distinct possibility that all of this back and forth about this being the last season is nothing more than a bargaining tool on the part of Sudeikis. He currently makes 1 million per episode. He may be laying the ground work for Amazon to come to him and say, "would you come back for 1.5 million per episode"? An absolute guess on my part but believable.

In both season 1 and 2 i thought the weakest episode was the first. I hope this trend continues

It was fine, I see some interesting potential plot lines developing.
It's still so bizarre seeing Giles as a bad guy

Dang they did a good job making Rupert's office look like a villain lair.

I think it was a fine first episode. I think it sets up the season well and gives us good insights into what to expect.

It seems like it's going to be focused around Teds journey and I can see the end of the season ending with him returning to Kansas

Rupert's office reminded me so much of the Death Star.

Average episode, not great. But it sets the stage for the rest of the season.

Did a great job of setting up storylines.

I enjoyed seeing how Nate reverted back to his bumbling self around Rupert before his super spit or whatever at the press conference, it shows how he has further descended into a place where he can only be confident by taking someone else down, confirmed what we were led to believe in Season 2.

Exactly what I thought he has a Death Star window

After watching his press conference, I did some self reflecting and was wondering if I would show the same grace that he did after what Nate said about him

Roy is feeling a little inadequate, especially since Keeley runs her own PR firm.

Phoebe is so cute and so wise beyond her years. All i think about when she talks is her bad breath. haha

Her line about her parents splitting at 4 so she believes nothing lasts forever was so sad

That honestly made me so sad too, which kind of leads me to believe she really had to grow emotionally super quick because of it. Her telling Roy that he was stupid (asking him first if she could say a bad word first), was my comment as well...

Ted showed a lot of grace in his response to Nate's personal attack. However, in watching Ted's press conference scene it was quite clear that Ted, while clearly a very genuine and nice person, also realizes that his "niceness" is a tool that can be used to beat people down when they confront you.

Yeah, he's nice but not nice enough to not use said niceness as a weapon. Kill em'. with kindness.

Instead, feed your enemy if he is hungry. If he is thirsty give him something to drink and you will be "heaping coals of fire on his head." In other words, he will feel ashamed of himself for what he has done to you.
Be more concerned with your character than with your reputation. Your character is what you really are while your reputation is merely what others think you are.

You guys are tough. I smiled the whole time. The show's characters are asking the question of why are they still here, the same as the show. Let's see how they answer it.

Y'all need to calm down lmao. It's the first episode of the season. Season 1 and 2 both had the lowest IMDb ratings on the first episodes as well, except for Beard After Dark which is the most divisive episode in the series.

I feel bad for anyone who views this show with a cynical lense.

Watching Ted change people (and himself) is literally the point of the show. Rebecca smiling at the end while "Ted is being Ted" was awesome and joyful.

His love for his kid throughout the episode was incredible. That text from his ex-wife. Oof. So good. So many great scenes in this episode.

Check your cynicism at the door and just enjoy a feel good show.

Ted asks "what am I doing here?" And episode 1 clearly answers changing lives.

That scene where Beard stops him from going out to talk to the team. How fun was that?

Oh and a prediction Nate will fail spectacularly before beginning his redemption arc.

AFC Richmond avoids relegation by beating West Ham (West Ham gets relegated. Ted realizes he has done all he can at Richmond and flys home. Leaving the team and everyone he has met better for him having been there.

I like the Phoebe character a lot. However, its a wee bit irksome that such a quality show insisted on inserting the tired Hollywood trope of the sassy cute girl that is wise beyond her years and speaks as if she's a doctoral candidate.

Just watched this episode a second time, and I liked it even more.

I think its goal was to remind us that even though all these people grew over the first two seasons, they're still dealing with the same problems. Rebecca vs Rupert, Ted's marriage, Nate's insecurity from his dad, Roy and growing past being just a footballer. And Rupert remains a Class A dick

Collin comes out as gay.........apparently they filmed a scene with him and Trent Quinn at a gay bar when the team visits Amsterdam...... an internet message board about the show mentioned this, who knows.
Rewatching today and noticed in season 2 when Keeley launches Bantr, Colin says oh, like Grindr

The internet rumor is that the Grindr line was meant to be a silly comment and not a "hint" that Collin is gay. However, people started to talk about the comment and the fan theory was created about him being gay. The writers took notice and thought it was an interesting idea and will run with it in Season 3.

Sorta a rumor about a rumor. We will see.

Loved the first episode. Set the stage well for the story for the season.

Man, Nate turned into such an *******.

I'm glad Ted was able to turn that on its head and come out as the good guy he is.
