Apple shows are always one ep per week I think.

We're still doing no spoiler tags for content once an episode drops, right? That's what we'd done for previous season threads.

That's how I roll. If an episode has aired it's my job to avoid the thread until I've caught up. I still have a months old tab open with House of Dragon from when I stopped watching.

Beard at Night and the Christmas episode were filmed after the whole season was filmed because Apple added two episodes at the last minute.

Yeah, they were very out of place but people also wanted more backstory on beard

I was obsessed with that song for about a week afterward.

"You can't always get what you want" in the trailer leads me to believe:

Team will not be overly successful.
Nate will fail.
Rebecca and Sam will not fall in love.
Beard and Jane will finally separate completely.
Keeley's business will fail.

"You get what you need"

Ted will return to his son to be the father he never had.
Nate will find redemption and realize he doesn't need his fathers approval.
Roy and Jamie will fully reconcile and Jamie will find the father figure he always needed.
Roy and Keeley will marry.
Rupert will get his humble pie and not get the opportunity to screw up his child.

those are all very reasonable outcomes and maybe even the likely ones.

that said, we already did the bittersweet, just came up short ending in S1. which made sense because they were a rag-tag team that just lost its best player and didn't have a real soccer coach. now, they have their "two aces" and the rest of the team has developed too and they have roy as a proper coach. at the end of S1, Ted told Rebecca they were going to get promoted and then win the whole f'n thing...the first of those things happened, now it's time for the second.

I can't see them winning the league, but maybe winning an FA cup trophy is in the cards? Or at least staying up in the PL instead of yo-yoing back down to the Championship (which is quite common).

The trailer seems to show Nate being quite angsty in his new position as head coach which leads me to believe they have him headed down the path to redemption. There is no way a show like this leaves him as "evil".

Keely and Jamie get back together with Roy and his nieces teacher becoming an item.

Collin comes out as gay.........apparently they filmed a scene with him and Trent Quinn at a gay bar when the team visits Amsterdam...... an internet message board about the show mentioned this, who knows.

Rebecca finds a way to seriously put Rupert in his place. He will be defeated.

Ted stays in England for no other reason than not wanting to close the door on some sort of future continuation of the series. At least I hope this one is true.

Thought this was a great explanation of Nate's character so far, and does a good job of connecting all the examples of his escalating behavior from throughout the series:

Not guesses.

Jason Sudeikis and I are old college buddies. He calls at least once a week to run storyline ideas by me and get my guidance on future projects. I'm sort of his mentor.

Yep.....100% guesses. If I get 2 out of 5 correct I'll be happy.

Yeah, I think this season is the final part of the Ted part of Ted Lasso. Maybe we get a Richmond spinoff next?

As long as Rebecca and Sam split, I'll generally be okay with any result of S3. That relationship being portrayed as fun and flirty and generally unproblematic made me a bit uncomfortable. Other than that love the show.

Also, while I think there are a lot of strong characters on the show besides Ted, it would be hard for me to have the same level of interest in a Richmond spinoff without him. His charm, positivity, and quirky references are definitely a big part of what I enjoy. I think he provides a perfect foil for a lot of the other characters to play off. Without him, I think some of the other characters we love also lose a bit of their shine.

Season 1 was fantastic. Season 2...meh.

I have hopes that Season 3 is better, but Ted Lasso may just be another example of a short story made too long.

I'm hoping for a spin-off where Roy gets hired as head coach of an MLS expansion team somewhere in small-market fly-over country. Somewhere truly God-forsaken like maybe Albuquerque, Omaha, or Des Moines.

I used to live and die by Sepinwall, but I really think h'es full of himself now.

I'm not going to trust this review.

Which I'm not going to read other than the subject of the article. It actually annoys me based on the title of the article posted. I wish you had just posted the link.

Now I'm going to go in with thinking it's not good.

I agree with you, Sepinwall was always very insightful and in some ways made me appreciate shows even more by spotting things I had missed. However for several years now I feel as though he has become intentionally contrary as if to say everyone else in dumb for enjoying a show like this because I'm the smartest guy in the room. I stopped reading him

I lived there for K-2nd, and I was born in Omaha, so I'm largely picking on myself.

Roy and Keeley would utterly loathe the idea of living in any of those, but it could end up creating a *****t's Creek kind of vibe if they did it right.

I really hope not. We don't need 6 seasons of every show.
