Just finished the season - definitely loved where it ended up, but there was a heck of a lot of "I don't remember" and "this is impossible"

Hopefully S2 expands everything nicely. Love that they planned this show out like they did with Dark. I trust them to make something totally unique

Just finished it. I love how every time you think you start to get your mind around what is happening the things just go up another level of crazy.

Good show, looking forward to season 2.

On Ep7

Lost interest around Ep5…going to finish but not impressed.

Watched it. It was ok, but the reveal at the ending was a bit of a let down, IMO. It's not even close to Dark, but I did notice that the actor playing the Captain was The Stranger from Dark.

Yeah admittedly if Dark S1 is like a 9.8 for me, this was probably around an 8.

Finally finished and loved it. Not quite Dark but very good.

I do think the big reveal is just another layer though.

Watching dark now and it's crazy good

Through episode two so far. I'll keep watching cause Dark is on my Mount Rushmore of shows. But so far it is pretty plodding, some decent mystery and cliff hangers. But I'm not hooked quite yet

This is saying something, but the plot isn't quite as tight as Dark's is early on. Reeeeaaaalllly takes you for a long walk before we finally get to a point that any specific character is trying to do a specific thing.

I'm not sure if it was intentionally meta or not but this season is like 95% the characters AND the audience trying to figure out what's happening and only like 5% stuff happening.

was there really a Prometheus that sank in 1899?

Thru episode 7 and will finish the rest tonight. Definitely got more intriguing around episode 5 or so. Has not reached near the heights of Dark. But this isn't a bad show by any stretch of the imagination.

You can absolutely tell that the same group who was responsible for the opening title sequence is the same as the ones who did Dark. Very solid.

I agree with this assessment.

I think so far (thru episode 7 at least) it has a very West World Season1 mixed with Shutter Island type of feel. I have no idea what's real and what's not.

Just finished it and it ended much better than it began. Was not expecting that ending. Started out a solid 6 but ended probably as a 7.5 out of ten for me.

Do NOT watch the "making of 1899" if you haven't but plan to see dark. I'm still in season 1, but the actor who is in both (captain in 1899) takes about 10 seconds to explain his characters role in Dark. I already had an idea but it wasn't nearly as fleshed out as he succinctly explains it.

Haven't seen Dark but this is a fun watch. It's entertaining and kind of a mind fck. It's cool to see it all kinda come together as each episode focuses on one character.

The music in this show is incredible. The original score and the selected songs at the end are fantastic. It's all so spot on.

It seems like the viewers that haven't watched Dark appreciate this show more than those that have watched Dark.

I wonder if Dark is so awesome it ruins other awesome shows because they aren't awesome enough…

Wow, I was semi abivalwnt on it until the last 10 minutes of ep 8.
Such a crazy turn.

This series is very fun to watch; love the slow pacing and the fact that nothing is being explained.

Liked Dark; wife LOVED Dark and will not shutup about it during this series. Keeps watching like it is a carry over season.

Funny thing about Dark and for those of you about to watch it. Somehow our Netflix got turned onto "Play most popular" so we watched Epsidoe S1E1 and then the next three episodes we binged were like 6,3 and 8. (Don't really remember the numbers). The point was watching S1 in order really didn't make a difference; to me it is what made that series so ****ing awesome.

Finished this up last night and thought it was a great ending. It all just kind of explodes over the last episode and really the last half of the last episode.

One question though...

So they've done all these simulations and things go bad and the ships get sent to the archive.

Is it part of the simulation that the Prometheus is afloat in the simulation and not relegated to the archive?

And I guess furthermore at what point or what action got them past the point that they never have before?

Im with you. I watched about 5 episodes and gave up. It was good at first, but then started meandering/stalling, and the story wasnt really going anywhere.

People have their own tastes of course so if you don't like it that's cool, but by the end of ep8 you have a pretty good idea of how they came to be on the ship, why they were there, who's idea it was etc. so there is some level of resolution by the end.
Season 2 seems to be setting up the background on all of it.

I really want an 1899 adaptation of 1989 from Bowling for Soup.

For all those that checked out at episode 5, keep going. 7 and 8 are bananas.
