Really enjoyed it. Liked the aspect that I'm trying to figure out wtf is going on along with the passengers. Showrunners have all my trust after Dark.

I ****ing hate Netflix. How did the Dark guys not get the full confidence treatment

One of the bigger cancellation disappointments I've had for a show on Netflix. Stuff that makes you think will get the axe, while shows about what is cake will get multiple seasons.

I know one is way cheaper to produce than the other, but this cancellation sucks.

Really really surprised by this.
Even if the numbers aren't great, you don't want to alienate your top shelf talent. So give them one more year and then if the numbers aren't there then both sides agree it had a fair shot. Without big name stars and relatively benign sets for the most part I can't imagine production costs are that high.
But all of the industry is in cost cutting mode, so forest through the trees I guess.

I thought it was set up to go in a really cool direction and was looking forward to seeing the story unfold further.

For the first few episodes I thought it might be a cheap show to make. You only needed one hallway, one stateroom with different furniture you move in and out and the deck. but then all the CGI started.

I had a tangent idea that TV drama set on a steamship would be pretty great. Basically Downton Abbey on a boat.

That's not a bad point about the CGI. They probably looked at the upcoming season/seasons and thought there was going to be a bigger budget because of the space setting and thought it wasn't worth it. Still sad we won't get another season. Figured Dark earned them enough respect to give them a bigger leash.

I'm starting to run out of reasons to keep Netflix. I'm not going to keep it for the reality **** they seem to be pushing hard lately.

Or the spaceship was the next layer up of the simulation.

Yeah, this wasn't suddenly going to become some sort of space exploration show or something. It was gonna be another level, surely.
