Says Tuco went to jail on an 11 month sentence. Seems like he due to get out at some point and pop out the woodpile.

I can't remember when it was because I recently did a rewatch of the whole series but it was said that Tuco got in some trouble in prison and had his sentence extended. I want to say Lalo told Hector that so it must have been last season.

Could be that it was really hard because the character is so extreme that it's on the verge of being kind of a joke. Kind of tricky to keep him believable/relevant vs a punchline. Avoided extended exposure may have ended up better for the story. He was a bit of a meth'd out professional wrestler

Marie was nuts but she had a quality that made me want to bend her over her purple couch. So I could tolerate it

Key word is purple. My wife and I went through our third viewing of the series and finally noticed everything she wears and has is purple.

Congrats on finally figuring out that colors are very important in the BB/BCS universe.

Cut him some slack. It's not like it took four or five viewings

My wife and I recognized some of them pretty quickly. Yellow was when they cooked meth, red was aggression or danger. Mix it with orange and you get Hank, an aggressive cop around danger looking for meth.

Purple was more subtle for us and we picked up on it with all of her kitchen appliances being purple in the background and her decorations.

Fun read for everyone https://breakingbad.fandom.com/wiki/Colors

I digress. Back to BCS

He left his gun there. (But didn't take a cannoli.)
I can't think of a good scenario where he uses that gun.

If I had to guess, Lalo gets evidence and suspicion of the lab somehow (I didn't think the Germans knew what it was for). It has to be compelling enough that he can out himself as alive. So he goes to Bolsa with his info. Bolsa and Lalo confront Gus and Gus takes them down there to show that is' nothing but a hole (I forget what his original excuse was). But then what? He grabs his stashed gun and shoots Lalo? With Bolsa sitting right there (who we know lives)?

I can't see how that goes down.

He carefully paced off from the power cable to where he stashed the gun.
My guess is he expects to get Lalo down there. Will cut the power leaving everyone in the dark, then he go to gun and use it.
Cannot figure out how he plans to see Lalo to shoot him though

Semi-related: The prison killing montage in BB is still an all-timer.

I honestly don't get the hate for many of these characters. The actors and writing are top-notch because the situations are so real.

Yes, Marie is irritating. That's abundantly clear. But I've got many irritating loved ones in my life so it's also very relatable. And yet..... When Hank went missing I really felt for her. Even more so when she discovers he's dead.

Same for Skylar. Domineering, controlling, but also believable because of these flaws. Then, once you scratch beneath the surface a bit, you are forced to consider whether Walt had abdicated any decision-making, skulking through life as a weakling, thereby creating the necessity for her to step in and call the shots, for the sake of the family.

Or maybe they were co-dependent. She already had seeds of being domineering, and he chose to marry her because he wanted someone else in charge.

These flaws are what makes drama worth watching.

The character of Marie so annoyed me that, if I see the actress that played her in anything, I cannot and will not watch it. I kinda hoped she got bumped off instead of Hank. Flynn/Walt Jr. was equally annoying. Skyler character didn't bother me much, I just wanted her to make a decision one way of the other...was she with Walt or against him? She went back and forth one to many times for me.

Marie was by and large such an irrelevant character I don't know that I ever formed an opinion of her...I also don't know why Marie is all we are talking about on the 30th page of BCS's final season but I guess I'm part of the problem there too

Last 2 posts:

- Skylar was never with Walt. She hated him. He ceased to be the man she married. It even became clear that "nice Walt the chemistry teacher and family man" was probably more of a charade than Heisenberg. She did carve out a niche for herself as money launderer after he trapped her, but ended up hating herself and regretting it.

- Marie was "irrelevant"? She's what tied Hank to Walt, so very relevant from a pure plot perspective. She also gave important new dimensions to Hank's character that would not have existed otherwise.

Well...someone will be trying to turn the power back on (probably Lalo) and when he does Gus will have the drop on him.

I got a feeling Zeigler's wife is gonna become reinvolved at some point. Maybe she calls to cops and somehow confirms with law enforcement that Lalo is still alive.

I think we're in store for a heavy dose of the Kim-Jimmy-Hamlin storyline saving Lalo's return to New Mexico for the first-half finale. I think Dr. Caldera (the vet/doctor) is going to use the vacuum cleaner disappearer and give Jimmy his journal with the coded entries, which includes the info for Best Quality Vacuum. I think we also see Lalo tracking down Kai and grabbing the axe handle in the final scene of tonight's episode. I think we also see Howard's PI being followed or having an altercation with Mike's guys that are following Jimmy. Admittedly, none of these predictions are really out there.

Is Lalo dispatched in this finale and if so, who or what will be the major antagonist for the final stretch?

I'm intrigued to find out how Lalo's character "ends" with Saul thinking he is still alive. Does that mean he's killed and word doesn't get around or does he end up in prison? I can't imagine it's not one or the other while being able to explain why he never shows up in BB.

I wonder if Lalo gets vacuumed and somehow makes a deal with Jimmy to spare Kim, or something along those lines.

Granted they are kind of telegraphing the fact that Gus takes him down in the basement, but it'd be a hell of a swerve.

Could also explain why exactly Saul is so paranoid in Nebraska, knowing Lalo is still out there and could potentially track him down via vacuum guy.

I honestly thought it was Rhea Seehorn playing Kim's mother. IMDB credits an actress named Beth Hoyt for both this episode and one from Season 5. I re-watched the scenes with her in both episodes, and boy does she look like Rhea Seehorn.

Well, it was a fine episode, but my least favorite of the season so far.

Need to stop giving the slow plot building episodes to the actors to direct. Sad to say but as soon as I saw G.E. directing I figured it would be slow.

When Kim turned the car around at the end, she was west of Albuquerque, not north to Santa Fe.

How could they have such an inaccuracy?! Show is no longer good. I'm out!

I'm just not a fan at how the pacing has changed.

Like all of a sudden they realized it's gonna wrap up earlier than expected and now they're trying to stretch it out.

They're still good episodes but the pacing and feel just seems different.
