I honestly don't get the hate for many of these characters. The actors and writing are top-notch because the situations are so real.
Yes, Marie is irritating. That's abundantly clear. But I've got many irritating loved ones in my life so it's also very relatable. And yet..... When Hank went missing I really felt for her. Even more so when she discovers he's dead.
Same for Skylar. Domineering, controlling, but also believable because of these flaws. Then, once you scratch beneath the surface a bit, you are forced to consider whether Walt had abdicated any decision-making, skulking through life as a weakling, thereby creating the necessity for her to step in and call the shots, for the sake of the family.
Or maybe they were co-dependent. She already had seeds of being domineering, and he chose to marry her because he wanted someone else in charge.
These flaws are what makes drama worth watching.
