You rooted for Jesse? I wanted him to get whacked every single episode, couldn't stand him.

I think the Chuck storyline was crucial for the evolution of Jimmy into Saul. Slippin' Jimmy would never have finished law school, even if by correspondence, had Chuck not taken him out of Chicago.
ABQ Jimmy as least TRIED to make an effort to be good, even if the deck was stacked against him. In fact now that I think about it, Chuck was a big part of of the deck being stacked against him. When Jimmy discovered that betrayal, it allowed him to quickly fall back into his con artist persona, only now with a law degree.
That's how you get Saul Goodman.
Of course, you also need to analyze the effect of Kim on Slippin' Jimmy/ABQ Jimmy/Saul.
Jimmy has a good heart underneath, but his desire for showmanship and the influence of seeing his father get taken advantage of all those years...combined with his hatred of Howard and Chuck for shutting him out...created the "I don't care what anyone thinks, I'm gonna take on the system and do it with style" persona that became Saul Goodman.
Even in BB, there was still a bit of humanity left in there.
With BB, Walter started out as a wimp and Jesse was a punk...it took a few seasons to make Jesse the character to root for. Even Hank was obnoxious in the first couple of seasons. What I love about BCS is that from the first episode on, I continue to root for Jimmy and Kim. You see their likeability and good intentions, despite their mistakes. Mike too.

To me, Breaking Bad was special because I found myself rooting for Walt the whole way through.
It was like being slowly boiled alive and never noticing that it got hot.

What do I win
Marie & Flynn were worse IMO.Brian Earl Spilner said:
As long as we're all in agreement that Skyler is by far the worst person on the show.

Marie was nuts but she had a quality that made me want to bend her over her purple couch. So I could tolerate it

Says Tuco went to jail on an 11 month sentence. Seems like he due to get out at some point and pop out the woodpile.
From what I understand he didn't want to be on BCS at all. Apparently it takes a lot out of him personally to get into the Tuco character. I guess he's method. Lol.Stat Monitor Repairman said:
That sounds familiar. Also read an interview with the dude that played Tuco and he said he's done with Tuco.

Apparently, Tuco was supposed to be a major villain throughout season 2 of the series. But Cruz insisted on getting killed because he found the role too difficult to play.
In an interview with AMC, Cruz explained, "I asked them to kill me. Honestly, I wasn't looking forward to coming back and doing the part."
He continued: "It's really difficult to pull off. They were like, 'We want you to come back and do eight more episodes.' And I said, 'No. I'll do one more and that's it. You guys have to kill me.' They're like, 'We never heard of an actor that wanted to die.' And I'm like, 'You don't understand. This part's really hard.'"
