I was wondering when she will realize that a couple of the Indian helper women are probably Sam's "first" wives this one in particualr was too pretty to be just and seamstress helper

Not at all. I like westerns where people look the part. If you want to watch Dr. Quinn Medicine Woman type westerns, more power to you. Even they had the sense to not portray women riding around in the sun on horseback during a migration with sleeveless shirts while the men (and the less attractive women) are covered head to toe for sun protection.Thisguy1 said:aggierogue said:

Elsa and the gypsy would have lasted about two days before rethinking their wardrobe.
I can understand having some imperfections (like perfectly white teeth), but Elsa riding around in Native American attire with a v-cut sleeveless dress is silliness. Her me-against-the entire outfit narrative is getting a little goofy as well.
I'm going to see the series through, but it does appear that the writing is getting sloppy as the story goes on.
I have some thoughts:
Where did the Indians get that clown yellow leather to make her chaps?
How the hell does it make any sense for her to ride to Oregon, and then turn around and go back? By herself, I assume?
Taylor Sheridan should not ever attempt to act again. Ever.

There's not much between Oklahoma and Wyoming except plains, bandits and river crossings. They've already covered the dangers of those. Your choices are to either spend an entire episode on dysentery or just skip to Wyoming.

I was under the impression her chops were made from doeskin, which would've been kind of a yellow color.
Yeah, I figured they traveled together for a couple weeks or so. Not just a couple days.
Well I better weigh in here. This show started out great and has now gone to total crap. Making Elsa the central figure and watching her go from an innocent girl to a straight up garden tool has bombed this one for me. I told my wife after this week's episode I am probably done. If I have to listen to her put on southern accent talking a bunch of garbage musings one more time I may just puke. They had a good setup for a show here but Elsa has sunk the ship. Rant over.

How did it take you EIGHT episodes to realize Elsa was the main character of the show? This show has been about a teenage girl on a wagon trail from literally the first scene...and they even give her voice overs EVERY episode to help people like you figure out that yes, this in fact about a teenage girl turning into a woman on the open plains.

i couldn't help but laugh when she started yelling "I love you" in Comanche at Sam. It was exactly like Wind in His Hair yelling at Costner from up on the ridge in Dances with Wolves when he and his woman decide to go out on their own.
Yeah, the entire ending of this episode was overly cheesy. "We're wasting time" was the icing on the cake after she unsolicitedly proclaims her love for Sam in Comanche, then English.Old School Brother said:

Some of these gripes about the "stupidity" of the show are leaps and bounds more stupid than what the actual gripe was about.

Is Elsa going to fall in love with a Asian man working on a railroad next that lasts a few episodes as she laments how she has to leave him as the railroad goes East? This teenage romance drama is by far the worst part part of the show and it's not close. It's gone from a Western to some girl's 50 Shades of Grey style fiction, it's simply that bad.

My transcontinental journeys have all been via Interstate but Google maps takes me from FW->Denver->Laramie->Salt Lake->Portland. I've driven to Denver a lot and Eastern Colorado is basically just Kansas. Why not cheat over To Denver to give yourself some options?

Also saw when pulling up his imdb he has a movie coming out with Angelina Jolie and the new kid from Yellowstone.
Again, the show hasn't taken any sort of new "direction". The show has been about Elsa from the very beginning...

There have been several storylines along with Elsa's. The last couple of episodes have been more focused on her. Sorry if you haven't caught on.
