My wife and I thought this was far and away the worst episode. Elsa falling for the Comanche immediately was dumb.

Overall it's been great.
according to my girlfriend, "Elsa is quite the little ho, isn't she"

Rule 1 so I can determine her bonafides on this subject matter.

Where are these women? Why don't I meet them?

Asked a friend of mine.

Like and old friend once told me, "Sex is like a chocolate milk shake. Once you've had one you want another one, another one, another one . . ."

Plus in Elsa's case she knows life is potentially short. Gotta get all the milkshakes she can get!

Today's episode may be my favorite yet.
GD this show is so good.

Thought we might be getting a nod to The Searchers somehow when the bigger Indian lady showed up to help Elsa with her pants but it didn't come to pass.

Couple silly spots but overall a solid episode. Will be interesting to see what the final hurdle(s) will be for the last two episodes.

So, maybe this was "ok" but... the "wild mustangs" that had halters?

I'm pretty sure those were some of the horses from the wagon train that got scattered in the tornado and they took up with the wild herd.
I mean, they miss stuff in this show bit c'mon guys….they're not THAT lazy.

Not sure what Shea did so wrong by giving the emigrants a choice and explaining the risks. Also not sure what changed in James that he's suddenly wanting to be the leader. I get that we want to see character growth, but not sure that we've seen enough for these sudden changes to be believable.

This is the first episode I would consider a bit weaker. Excited to see the next obstacle that comes their way.

James is going to Oregon. Maybe he'd rather not travel alone.

He's threatened to travel alone (with his family) and scoffed at the idea of leading these people for nearly the entire series.

He didn't give them a choice though. That's the problem James has. Shea decided for them they can't hack it to Oregon and said we're going to Denver now. James was tired of him treating them like kids is my take.

We'll, maybe he changed his mind after his experiences? And I agree that he had a problem with them not being offered a choice.

He absolutely gave them a choice. He started with "If we're lucky, we reach Fort Laramie in October, which means crossing the South Pass in the snow, or stay the winter in the Fort.... The other option is to head to Denver, be there in 6 weeks."

And that's my point. Changing your mind is fine. I'm just not sure that the series showed us enough progression for the character to get to that point. Just a minor critique.

He was pushing for Denver and had no intention of going to the fort. They paid him to go to Oregon whether he likes it or not and whether he thinks they can make it or not. James doesn't like him deciding their lives for them.

I agree that that's what Shea wanted, but he still gave them the choice. At that point James stepped up out of character, and everything was decided from there.

Man I loved this show, but it's starting to get silly.

I can't get over the attractive women going sleeveless on the drive with no tan lines in sight.

And I guess Elsa has no problem just leaving her entire family over a guy she just met. Then we're supposed to believe she is so in love with the guy that she is ready to bid her family farewell, but she'll ride with them to Oregon and then come back?

Writing started strong and now it's turning into a romance novel.

This!

Elsa is the Taylor Swift of pioneers. Everything is happening to her and none of it is her fault.

I think a lot of people would behave differently if they lived during this time.

Also, I think Sheridan has a real problem on his hands. For me, going back to Yellowstone is going to be really tough. I'm going to do it but it's going to be hard.

Went back and watched the opening scene of episode 1 and wondering when she gets shot. She's wearing a dress but does have the Indian beads in her hair. Just find it odd she would wear a dress if riding back to meet Sam. There's definitely an immigrant women getting scalped too so it would appear like they're still heading to Oregon. Can't decide which way she's going.
