Dumb question - wifey wants to watch.

Can't find it on direct tv to record.

Doesn't show up on paramount.

What are all the ways to stream/record?

Ps- we have u limited iPad iPhone streaming but we can't run a home network - too rural and Hughes net is garbage.

Yes. The scene ended with her screaming "No!!"

he had said something to the effect of "ain't gonna make it" and then we heard a body thud to the floor and her (and possibly John and Spencer) sobbing.

thanks for the streaming answers. Got it working.

Great show. As my place is on the brazos, and ive swam and kayaked it many times, i can tell you that having 2 horses tied to a covered wagon would be pretty damned risky. Im much further south though. To find an accretion bank on both sides you have to cross length wise diagonally, putting you into a long, probably 100 yard run of deep trough.

And i promise, a hard rain and youre stuck for 2 weeks at least.

That makes the 'if you move the cattle first they'll turn the dirt into a bog' sound even more true.

Well, i can tell you in the lower brazos if its rained or the river was up in the last few days that powdery beach sand turns into sticky damn near quick sand mud. Its easy to instantly drop a modern 4 wheeler to the frame in it, and horses can easily sink to the hocks in it. Ive actually had to take my muck boots off and crawl up my ramp before.

It can be deceptive too- if the surface looks dry but its still wet underneath.

Ive stuck every 4wd tractor, truck, gator, 4 wheeler we have at one point or another, and we just know better than to risk a horse down there unless the conditions are perfect.

The upper brazos/whatever river they actually filmed on was more rocky and smaller, with no deep cut banks, but i can tell you that generally speaking river crossing in a covered wagon would truly be a fearful challenge back then. Until i lived and worked here id have never dreamed.

And then to have people who cant swim terrified of water on top of it?

I mean, you people act like y'all never played Oregon Trail. The damn thing is is either going to sink or it's not.

But seriously, you're right. If you haven't been around a river like these, it can be very treacherous. I lived in Richmond near the river so we spent a lot of our childhood along the cut bank side. The sediment types change drastically within 1/4 mile from gravel and sand bars to mucky clay based muds. Plus, like you said, if you haven't been exposed to swimming or being in water like the Germans, then any amount of moving water is terrifying.

Only 4 episodes in and we've already got 3 pages on the ins and outs of pioneer's river crossing practices.

LOL, true; but for all the nitpicking about 'reality' that gets done around here, i have to admit i would have never believed how much of an issue river crossings were if i hadn't been through all that.

so for that part at least, the show did a pretty good job.

Hell the whole hour long episode was about moving a group of people about 100 yards… nothing else…

So the pacing is one thing I'm interested in with this show.

Do we know yet how many seasons well get?

Will this be mostly just their journey or will it continue into them settling and living in Wyoming?

If they want to stick with mostly the journey then that would explain why we get episodes like this last one that are completely dedicated to just a very small portion of the trip.

Montana - Do you even watch Yellowstone?
The park is in Wyoming.

Actually not anymore. Watched the first 2 seasons and quit.

The incredibly unfortunate unbelievable string of bad luck that family has in that show got to be a bit too much. Just lost interest.

But that's for another discussion.

Wait - the brazos is about an hour and a half into the 20 hour haul to vegas - so wyoming is still a really log way away.

Well....the park is mostly in Wyoming but it crosses state lines into both Montana and Idaho.

They also have to have a whole other kid to get to the clip shown in Season 4 of Yellowstone.

In True West magazine.....he mentioned it will be just one season....I hope he changes his mind, or it's a long season! (He also mentions they turn North up the Chisholm Trail, which they obviously haven't done yet! The Chisholm goes through Abilene, Kansas ...not Abilene, Texas...by the way...but who knows!)

I agree with 1 season... however if so I would have had them cross the Brazos sooner like end of E2 or maybe beginning of E3.... let's get going we got 2000 miles to go.

Some of those miles would be dull and boring. Might be worth skipping.
On the other hand, if they get killed by Comanches further west, it could be a short season.
