Trigger warning -- not directly related but it could save you a buck or two

SIAP but for those of you on t-mobile you might be eligible to get Paramount+ for free for a year.
Details here --> https://www.t-mobile.com/offers/paramount-plus-deal

It's painless if you are on the Essentials (with commercials) plan. I was on the no-commercial sub and it was still easy but had to let my sub lapse and then apply. Anyway, just thought I'd share.

No ties to T-Mobile; I was forced to change a few years ago because work pays for my phone (and tmob offered corp $15 a line for 2000 users vs $100+ we were paying for ATT or Verizon!). Originally wasn't not thrilled with service off the beaten path but been very reliable in big cites and major highways and gotten much better the in the last 2 years.

We get free MLB.tv and free Netflix from them already as well...

Disappointed that we didn't see any horsey tricks from Sheridan

Yep. Another stellar episode. I like how justice is dispensed on the prairie.

Great episode.

Two kudos and one gripe:

Kudo: loved the Comanches and always kinda wondered if Elsa was gonna end up with one (Native) At least for a while.

Kudo: that tornado scene was badass. Watching the wagons get blown to hell with all the immigrants possessions was really well done.

Gripe: Even with a huge head start, Lightning, the fastest horse around, couldn't outrun those cattle rustlers for squat. That seemed kinda like a big detail to just overlook given the big deal made out of Lightning's speed in the same damn episode.

We thought the same thing. She beats an indian in a race and gets caught by multiple cattle thieves minutes later.

Also, i assume they trying to keep her alive? They switched to trying to hit her with the butt of the gun when they were well within range to shoot her.

Great episode. Could have done without the excessive narration.

Since I read the post earlier from the guy who narrates random activities around his house, that's all I could think of every time she launched into another monologue.

What a dang episode. This is my favorite show on TV right now and it's not close. I know they are not the same thing nor are they meant to be, but YS is not even remotely in the same league as 1883. Every week of this show reminds me what a disaster the last season of YS was.

Anybody catch on that Sheridan played the black bearded guy that came in with the Indians to save the day?

Good catch! Sheridan is playing the part of Charlie Goodnight, cowboy, literal trailblazer, and considered by some to be the "father of the Texas Panhandle".

That was a great episode! I feel like they're going to easily convince the Germans to change their plans and settle in Colorado.

I'm confused. Elsa meets Indian, asks how he speaks English. And dies... Elsa meets Indian, that speaks English, and mugs him in a tornado

Ha, I just finished the new episode and came to see if anyone recognized Sheridan as Charlie. Same awful lines and awful delivery.

Yeah, I could definitely do without the teenager love stories from Elsa. But at least they contribute to the overall story. Those Comanches sure knew when to show up

The tornado scene really made me think what the heck would or could you do at this time if you got caught up in that type of situation.

Same thing you'd do these days, right? If you're caught out in the open with a tornado, you get to the lowest point to try to avoid the debris.

To be fair, she didn't beat the Indian by a whole lot. That's a slightly faster than average horse. Also, this idea that average horses run for a mile at a full gallop is a thing of hollywood. it makes good tv because people think that the Kentucky derby and every western ever made is standard fare for a typical field grade horse. The scene is pretty reasonable I think.

This may have been one of the best episodes so far.

Love this show.

Surprised to see Comanche using saddles though. Animal rights while filming? Maybe no actors know how to ride without one?

Him and his speech pattern, coupled with Shea being the happiest he's been through 7 episodes to see him, all took me right out of the narrative of that great episode.

This makes no sense because Charlie Goodnight was born in Illinois and moved to Texas when he was 10. But I guess Sheridan thought Val Kilmer's Georgia-born and PA-educated Doc Holliday sounded cool.

I gotta say that I think the two leading roles and actors in this show are McGraw and Elliott. I'm not intending to put the two ads comparable but they are definitely to me the best two.

Was my favorite episode so far. Just hope Sheridan's appearance doesn't mean we are in for 10 minutes of horse tricks on the prairie next week.

Great episode overall..........Three Things:
1.) As far as Elsa's horse...Lightening....we have to remember she rode the horse pretty hard to catch up with the rustlers....and the rustler's horses were resting. Then, she has to run for her life, so it could be that her horse was pretty "spent" during the chase, causing them to be able to catch up with her. I was looking at numbers....13 rustler's when the attack began.....looked like they killed 4 or 5 in the initial rush....then 4 were after Elsa....then we come back to the battle and there are still like 7 or 8 guys alive attacking McGraw and co......but ok.

2.) I'm assuming all of this took place in Oklahoma....not sure what Charlie Goodnight (Sheridan) is doing out there all alone when his ranch is 100's of miles away in Texas.........but maybe he was returning from a cutting horse competition or something.

3.) Really bothered me that Sheridan had a 6 year old boy use/say the "F" word....thought that was totally unnecessary....sure the boy heard it....but he didn't have to actually have him say the word. (I kind of doubt the word was used as much back then)

You saw the head start they had on the rustlers. You think it's unreasonable for HER horse to run that fast for that long but not THEIRS? Hence the complaint.

Again....she rode that horse a long way to catch up with the rustler's. The rustler's horses were "fresh", whereas hers was already pretty "spent"....which might explain them being able to catch up with her.

Yea the first one was kinda weird looked like they had shot alot of the guys but seemed more kept showing up vs getting less from being shot.
Goodnight could of been traveling the Goodnight-Loving Trail. It started in Central Texas and ran up to Wyoming.

Far as last one as someone who grew up on a ranch, as kid your going to hear that kind of language when working the ranch. My grandfather would always say this type of language stays in saddle & in the pasture. There's a time & place for it and a man has to know that.
