What SD Pickups are those?
DallasTele might want to cover his ears for the next part. Also picked up a Line 6 Helix to keep myself busy until the football season. Will be turning a lot of "knobs" trying to recreate my favorite grunge, Zeppelin, and SRV sounds (will not be able play like him)

Nothing wrong with employing technology to get the sounds you want. I've been having fun playing around with the cheap little Boss Katana I got a few months ago. My Peavey Classic 50 2x12 sounds good for what it does, but it's not nearly as versatile as the Katana. Decided to do a few cosmetic upgrades on the Katana so that it looks more like a real amp and less like a Fisher Price toy.tk for tu juan said:

Hey... I can get all the sounds I want, as well!
Nice! I'm sure they sound awesome, but also sure they were just a few more dollars than my budget (or skills) could justify. At least I've got the same grill cloth as the Tone King.

I have a Fender Super Champ and just plug in and play around with the knobs and enjoy it late night barely knowing what the hell I'm doing with the amp.
However, I recently was gifted a basic Fender standard acoustic beginner guitar. Put some elixirs on it and for the first time since I even started taking lessons three years ago have actually been playing unplugged and it's caused me to become so much better in just the last month since I received it. I have a dozen guitars or so but didn't even have a regular old beater acoustic until now.
So, DallasTele-you did make a good point all along however many pages back that was, especially regarding beginners (which I most definitely still am three years into this thing and possibly because of just always dicking around with making noise as opposed to really trying to stick to a plan and really learn and practice a lot).
But also, as my custom EVH guitar hanger says, "The hell with the rules if it sounds right, then it is." Fun hobby for sure and something I wish I had picked up as a kid as opposed to post 40 years old.
Very nice. I assume you saw Les Clapool's Fearless Flying Frog Brigade will be covering "Animals" in Houston on the lawn at White Oak June 16th. That's going to be a heater in more ways than one for sure.

The modifications to the Katana look good.
I was using a Fender Mustang III that I bought used, and it was already well worn when I bought it. While playing my electric guitar on Sunday, after not using it for awhile, the amp started cutting out intermittently. Figured it was a good time to try the Helix while I eventually open up the Fender and see what the problem is.

I need to step up my amp game.
I have been practicing chords and chord changes on an acoustic guitar on and off for the past year or so; mostly ignoring the electric guitar and guitar tabs. Looking at tabs now it is easy to see the underlying chords and not just numbers showing which fret to use.
Learned the beginning of Bullet with Butterfly Wings last night, never knew how easy it was. Then came across a preset that sounded like the beginning of Day Tripper and started playing that; realizing I still have a ways to go on finger coordination, stumble on the last three notes after hitting the fourth fret on the D string

I picked up this Fender Mustang lV a few months ago and really enjoy it. I move a lot with the Army and got little kids now. It definitely gets the job done so I don't lose my skills. Really great tones and gets loud.
Y'all got some fancy stuff and nice music rooms. That will come later on in life! It's great motivation.

It currently has very light creme plastics. I once played in a band called Black Gold so there's some goofy appeal there.

I'm mainly a high gain player (hard rock and metal) but that JTM45 is exquisite. Just picked it up a few weeks ago.

It was slammed with people for the President's Day sale. Lots of people buying starter packs in the big triangular boxes.
The kid I mentioned before that has numerous Player Strats? He was playing basses today. Might be time to expand the arsenal.
His dad was walking around waiting like usual. When that kid gets his license he needs to just get a job there. He can then finance his GAS.

Happened to catch Most Expensivest on Videland. The episode was titled High Notes.
They went to Norman's Rare Guitars where they interviewed Joe Bonamassa and others. He showed off his Amos Flying V, and talked about his other 513 guitars. Pretty cool.

I've never played anything that had them, but every review I've read, folks either absolutely hate them or positively rave about them. Not much middle ground.
At $169, that's a good deal though.
