Andy in the later seasons is the worst IMO. Not funny at all, and nothing particular interesting. Ed Helms can be funny in small doses, but that's about it. I enjoyed Andy in his early seasons.

Count me as a big Robert California fan, and I didn't mind Nellie.

Who's the one character you could do without?

Mine is Nellie

I think that's the universal answer
Nellie in a landslide, although when I watch reruns I don't like Gabe at all either.

I was really surprised they didn't make Dwight into the regional manager in the writing. It made far more sense and his extreme management style would have been just as funny in its own way as Michael's was. Nothing about Andy - save that Cornell pedigree - ever suggested he would be elevated to manager.

I thought Dwight was regional manager and then fired a gun in the office and was demoted.

He was, I mean outside of the show I'm surprised the writers didn't think the best way forward was with him as the manager.

I think they didn't make Dwight the manager because that was always part of the fairytale ending at the wrap of the series.

Pam : "There is a master key and a spare key for the office. Dwight has them both. When I asked, "what if you die, Dwight? How will we get into the office?" He said, "if I'm dead, you guys have been dead for weeks."

Michael Scott:
Man I would love to burn your candles!
Jan:
You burn it you buy it!
Michael Scott:
Oh good! I'll be your first customer!
Jan:
You're hardly my first.
Michael Scott:
THAT'S WHAT SHE SAID!!

Toby:
Hey Michael, I have an extra twin bed if you want.
Michael Scott:
You are going to be sleeping by yourself for the rest of your life so you should just get used to it.

Was just watching today. Been through the series at least 5 times and always find something new. Today was the scene where Michael falls asleep after eat chicken pot pie and they change the clocks to 5:00 so they can go home. They wake him up by laughing:

Michael: What's so funny?
Pam: you had to be there
Michael (kinda quiet and under his breath): oh..a geography joke

Michael Scott:
Yeah, Ryan snapped at me. But there was this twinkle in his eye, that I picked up on, which said, 'Dude, we're friends. I'm doing this for appearances. I am the big boss now. And I have to seem like an ogre. But you know me, and you trust me and we like each other. And we'll always be friends. And I would never take you for granted in a million years. And I miss you, man, and I love you... His words.

I didn't like Robert California my first run through the show. After going through the series a few times and seeing who he was I do think he had some great lines.

Robert: Jim, would you prefer a nature metaphor or a sexual metaphor?

Jim: Oh, god, nature, please.

Robert: When two animals are having sex, one of them...

- Pool Party -

Robert: It's not a party until you do something that scares you.

I'd be interested to know when everyone got into The Office. My brother had watched the BBC version and had watched the first season. The first one I ever saw in its entirety was The Booze Cruise. A few years later I got to interview Rob Riggle when he worked for the Daily Show and I did my best Chris Farley impersonation with, "Hey, uh remember that time you were on The Office? That was awesome."

I was at buddy's house to see The Fire episode, but I didn't get the context, and while I thought parts were funny, it didn't pull me in. The week before the fourth season started, I binged the first three seasons to get caught up, and I watched from Fun Run in Season 4 on as it aired.

Dancing. It is a primal art form... used in ancient times to express yourself with the body... and communicate. Sometimes you have to take a break from being the kind of boss that is always trying to teach people things, sometimes you just have to be the boss of dancing.

It was Sunday afternoon my soph year and it was my turn to do the dishes. CNBC for some reason was showing a Season 1 marathon so I put it on there while I cleared the sink out. Was hooked from there.

Watched "Traveling Salesman" last night and it might be mine and my wife's most quoted episode. So many great moments...

- easily quotable cold open with Harvey the computer
- Dwight and Jim's customer service bit with Jim hanging up on Kelly
- Andy bagginess coming out in full force
- Ryan taking the lead with Stanley's customer

Reminded me of a good one:

Michael: What is the difference between a salesman and a saleswoman?
Dwight: A saleswoman has a vagina.
Michael: It's a joke, Dwight. It's not sex ed class.
Dwight: But I'm right?
Michael: Yeah. You're right about the difference between a man and a woman, but not about the punchline of the joke alright. The difference between a salesman and a saleswoman is.... BOOBS!
