Am I being sexist or does anyone not care for MJ's attitude/ personality? I realize they're trying to give her more than a pretty face for Peter to love but she seems a bit too in his fave and ball busting. Here's hoping for a more enjoyable Felicia or Gwen.

I thought she was funny in the first one.

Wasn't Fury a victim of the snap? I thought he vanished as well

Yup. He was victim of the snap, as was Peter. I was just saying if this movie is post snap, the trailer only confirms Peter and Fury are alive post snap.

Her flipping Peter the bird was hilarious and very cute. Different strokes for different folks, I guess. I hope they expand in their relationship.

I think I posted this in another thread, but I would love if they made her last name Jameson (right now she is Michelle J.) and then have Ice Cube play J Jonah Jameson. They could then recreate the 22 Jump Street scene where Schmidt has to confront Ice Cube. Wishful thinking.

but seriously, does anyone not expect MJ to discover during this movie who Spidey is?

I'm pretty sure that's Maria Hill. The shield agent played by Cobie Smulders who was also dusted I believe.

I hated the Infinity War movie because of the snap. Sorry, immature but true. I pretend that movie and everything associated with it does not exist in the movie world or real world.

But this Spider-Man movie looks fun and entertaining. I'm in. I also really enjoyed Homecoming. I'm a Spider-fan from the old school.

Looks awesome. Love that we're out of NYC, love this MJ, and I love that Fury is drugging children.

I'm 99.999999% sure that the snapped heroes will be back in the real world before the end of Endgame.

I'm mixed about this. Looks awesome, but this Spider Man still hasn't carried his own movie without another established character showing up. I feel like he deserves to.

So, you buy into "gods" from other dimensions, magic hammers that can make you fly, talking raccoons, Planets that are alive and have children with humans, a person who violates the conservation of mass/energy.

But a snap pushes you over the edge?

Yes. I also believe in the soul... the cock...the *****... the small of a woman's back... the hangin' curveball... high fiber... good scotch... that the novels of Susan Sontag are self-indulgent overrated crap... I believe Lee Harvey Oswald acted alone. I believe there ought to be a Constitutional amendment outlawing Astroturf and the designated hitter. I believe in the sweet spot, soft core pornography, opening your presents Christmas morning rather than Christmas Eve, and I believe in long, slow, deep, soft, wet kisses that last three days.

But the snap pushed me over the edge. Goodnight.

Rumors suggest very post snap.

So that kind of removes all of the suspense

You really expect the top grossing superhero of all time to stay dead?
I mean it kind of lowers the stakes of the finale if there isn't at least some chance of the heroes losing.
I don't think this Spiderman trailer lowers the stakes though. We still have no idea about anyone else other than Fury. Your comment infers everyone who was snapped is brought back without thought that maybe not all of them are able to be brought back (I think they are all brought back by the way). Also, this trailer doesn't confirm anyone else beside Spidey and Fury are alive (unless I missed it). Still leaves the door open for the some of the heroes losing.
As we learned in Civil War, there are absolutely NO STAKES in the MCU for important/popular characters. Heck, even black Iron Man, while paralyzed is still able to be a super hero.

Maybe Endgame will change that since the OG Avengers are all near end of their contracts.

I am astounded that anyone thought that Disney would wholesale slaughter more than half of their characters, especially many of whom have post-IW plans that have been pretty public.
The fact that there is more than 1 of you out there is amazing.
you're re-positioning what people are saying. it's not that anyone thought that spiderman was going to be gone for good. its that by openly advertising a movie that takes place after the events of an unseen resolution to the biggest cliff hanger in franchise history, you are removing all chance for suspension of disbelief.

You're missing the point.

The fact that the entire ending of IW is meaningless means they can reverse just about anything. Hell, the entire movie could be wiped out via time travel.

All stakes lost in MCU going forward.

Compare this to say, a Star Wars episode. Han Solo is dead. The Resistance is decimated. You may not like what they've done, but it's certainly meaningful and not going to be undone, ever.

But I also think the point is that even immediately after IW, as soon as you walked out of the theater, you knew those who were dusted were most likely coming back. The point is this trailer doesn't remove any chance for suspension of disbelief because that was already done based on reports before IW that certain characters would be in Endgame.

As an aside, I overall find it interesting that we feel like we need death to have there be real stakes in a fantasy universe. At the very least, it feels like we're openly rooting for it.

I don't think reversing just about anything makes the ending of IW meaningless. In fact, it's a critical plot point. We have to remember that Dr. Strange went through every scenario of how to beat Thanos, and this was the only scenario where the Avengers could win. As a matter of fact, just before Thanos leaves the planet they're all on, Dr. Strange tells Tony they're "in the endgame now". It has to happen this way for them to beat Thanos - we just don't know why yet. That's the cliff hanger - why did it have to happen this way and what will be the differences in decisions made for the 1 in 6 million outcome to defeat Thanos?

Yes, it takes some of the emotional pull away from the ending of IW, but I'm betting there will be plenty in Endgame.

He went through all of the scenarios and found the one where they win....not the one where everything turns out ok.

Everyone remaining dusted but thanos being put in check are not mutually exclusive.

Meaningless?

Things we learned in Infinity War:

Stark is thinking seriously about starting a family. That will end his time in the armor for sure.
Thor lost his brother and half of the remaining Asgardian population (who still need to find a home).
Heimdall is dead. He's not coming back.
Hulk has had enough of only being asked to 'come out' when he's needed to smash things.
Spider-Man became an Avenger.....and may not like it after all based on the Far From Home trailer.
The Guardians have met the Avengers. And Quill has met maybe his first Earthlings since being abducted.
Gamora is dead. She's not coming back.
Does Nebula replace her in the Guardians?
Xandar is decimated. John C. Reilly's character and family may not have survived.
Captain America and the other fugitives will be forcing the U.S. government to either pardon them all (for, you know....saving the universe) or force a standoff once and for all.
Vision is dead. He's not coming back. Who knows what this will do to Scarlett Witch.

And unless they reverse time back to the moment before the snap, half the population of the universe watched the other half turn to dust right in front of them. So, either no one outside of the heroes fighting Thanos knows what really happened or everyone is scarred for life.

Thanos only kills half the people he attacks. And Thor tells the Guardians that Thanos killed half his people. I assumed the rest are still on what's left of the ship. Maybe with Valkyrie and Korg there still.

Do I know for sure? Of course not. But I would think that only the ones turned to dust in the snap are going to be coming back. Everyone else? Gone.

That would mean the Children of Thanos (Ebony Maw, Corvus Glaive, Proxima Midnight and Cull Obsidion), Loki, Heimdall, Vision and Gamora are lost.

Of those, vision and gamora could come back. Was gamora actually killed or did that somehow trap her in the soul stone? We don't actually know.

And it was alluded to in infinity war that vision is much more than the stone. Could be rebuilt in some way. I feel like I saw somewhere there were comics where he was that gray color too?
