Seems like they'd want A LOT more in return. That said, I really like the new cartel lawyer woman. That's a type of charcter I don't think I've seen before.

Yep. The girlfriend and I each choose two symbols and announce when we see those scenes (yeah, we're dorks) . Kind of like checking off the boxes of every episode. Problem is, some of those effing things are hard to decipher
4 episodes in so far and really liking S2. It has much more of a "slow burn" feel than S1
Halfway through the season, and I'm still loving it, but once again, same as last season, the main FBI agent has to be one of the worst charcters on television. The role, the arc, the actor, the performance... I hate it all so much. He's such a smarmy psycho, to the point where nothing about him makes any sense. I get that the character needs to have flaws so that we don't root for him over Marty, but man, they took that notion so far it's almost unbearable. I'm REALLY hoping he dies this season, because he brings down every scene he's in, along with every episode in which he's prominently featured, and I just don't know how much more of him I can take.

Finished it yesterday. Thought it was really good and better than season 1 even.
It's funny watching this and comparing to walking dead. The character development, plot, etc. makes you realize how terrible walking dead has become. It feels like an elementary project compared to Ozark.
Understand they're very different shows but just comparing aspects of them.

Finished it tonight. Definitely enjoyed it. although that casino has to be one if he smallest and crapiest casinos ever.
I will say I really prefer weekly episodes vs all released at the same time. I guess I need to learn to pace myself....

Agree some of the characters are unbearable - as TCCTS said, the FBI agent is bad but the worst is Charlotte the daughter - she is closing in on Kim Bauer territory.

Hot damn, episode six was FIRE. Maybe the best episode of the series for me, and one of the best episodes of anything I've seen this year. To the point where I'm legitimately pissed at all those negative reviews I read before the season started. I cannot at all fathom where they were coming from. This season has been phenomenal. I continually marvel at just how tightly wound and tense this show is and how EVERYTHING pays off. I may wait a few days to finish as I want to savor these last four episodes. Holy hell.
On e4 now. Definitely a tighter plot line than s1 which is great but still so cringeworthy with many decisions and and characters. The one thing it continues to be for me personally is the enigma that it's a show I'd ****ing hate as an episodic series on TV but somehow actually like if I can binge 3-4 eps at a time.
Great season. One major beef for me though:
they barely touched on how they swapped the Snell family remains with those of the murder victims in the crime lab. They said an episode or two later that they paid off the crime lab tech? An FBI crime lab tech? They really took the easy way out with that as far as I'm concerned. Plus as the agents were walking the freshly burned field, an agent was shown collecting the remains of a poppy plant that hadn't been completely destroyed. That was never dealt with again either. Seems like that would have been a bigger deal with bigger consequences.
I love the foreshadowing and slow burn that's going in with Marty becoming Jacob and Wendy turning into Darlene

Didn't have a problem with it. Was scratching my head at first, but then I remembered that the Snells were very close with the Sheriff and they likely used those ties to tamper with the evidence. Would have been the local lab doing the work and not FBI I would think.Yelnick McWawa said:

Only through 2 episode in 2nd season, but the only complaint I have so far is how calm Bateman is in every (to me) terrifying scene. Is that intentional or is he devoid of emotion as an actor? I honestly have never really seen in him in much, I don't watch much of anything.

They literally get into this in further episodes this season, and his character explains exactly why he is the way he is. It's a nice little note, and a great way of addressing your exact question.
Things just went from "fun" dark to DARK dark. Just... wow. Brutal and incredible. Three episodes left...
Overall great show. Agree that FBI agent in hard to watch, and also think Ruth's dialogue is getting really stale.

Love this show. It has become a new Breaking Bad for me. I think the acting is top notch across the board, except for Petty and maybe Charlotte.
Cinematography is beautiful, and the sound/music is Oscar-worthy, but why the hell are all scenes so overtly saturated!? Sometimes I wish I had a flashlight to see what's happening.
I did think the 2nd half of the season was very predictable, but still thoroughly enjoyed it.
Also, I can't wait to see how involved the KC Mob gets in Season 3. The guy who plays Frank Cosgrove might be my favorite supporting actor.

I ended up so relieved with the Ruth's dad storyline. I was so worried that was gonna get awful dark.
