I am very impressed with writing and acting, plot holes are minimal and characters stay true to themselves. I am very impressed with Ruth, she obviously craves her dads acceptance and transfers that to Marty. The way she runs the strip club is nails, she is not book smart but street smart and plays to her strengths. I understand the comment about her dialogue being tired, but I think that is true to her character with a limited vocabulary. At one point she looks at Three and says, "what am I going to say next?" Which was nails IMO

So what are the rules? Someone said as soon as the season drops. Someone said last Tuesday. Someone said tomorrow. Not sure what rule we collectively agreed to, and recall these Netflix threads basically being fair game once it was all dropped vs. a spoiler typically being for something that has not aired.
Not sure what the point of a thread blanketed in black except for "this show is awesome" is. Personally, I steer clear of Netflix threads that I haven't seen. Or movies. Or pretty much anything else that's available to everyone but I haven't seen and might want to.

When in doubt, I always use a spoiler tag.
When I'm posting about a show that dropped a few weeks before, I don't really carry doubt. But I guess I should be considerate of others that decide it's a good idea to venture into threads about shows, movies, etc that have been available for a few weeks.
Along the same lines, I avoid these threads until I'm done. What is it people are looking to read about That go through the thread while they're watching or before hand?
Need to go back to having multiple threads for episodes so there can be discussion.

Finally finished. Man, what a phenomenal season...
Wendy's arc was stunningly good. For the writers to slowly turn the tables like that, with the roles between her and Marty essentially/ultimately switched, except with a sense of escalation, was just a master stroke, especially with that beat at the very end.
My only complaint is that I wish Jacob wouldn't have been killed off. I get the purpose it served, but Darlene is just too unhinged - especially on her own - to really be all that scary, at least relative to the cartel and the mob. Her and Jacob together were a unique, formidable duo, but now I could not care less about her or that plot line. That, and I feel like we could have got one more great season out of Jacob. It just felt like it was premature.
But thank God the FBI agent is dead. That Cade was the one to kill him - and then got offed himself (another character I was growing tired of) - was perfect.
Overall, I felt like the show took a huge leap this season to become one of my favorites, and I cannot wait to see where it goes from here.

For this thread, in particular, I thought it was pretty clear that it was supposed to be this Tuesday, but I need to go back and check. Honestly, I was totally fine only giving it a weekend, but I do feel like there was some good discussion/questions answered outside of spoiler talk for the past week or so, and that it helped people who hadn't started it yet to test the waters more, so to speak, before having to stay out of the thread. That, and I enjoyed reading the general reactions as well. Either way, we do need a new standard. Personally, I'm not a fan of dividing a show like this up into four threads - I'd much rather just say spoiler tags for the first weekend - but I'm ultimately down for whatever the majority wants.

In all honesty, I did create this to be the official thread, hence the asterisks on either side of the title. But I appreciate the defense. I should have been more clear on the "rules" once they were (seemingly) agreed upon.
So a couple things, it was a solid season but I still don't put this on the level of breaking bad. Something that stood out to me was the random nirvana cover from Wyatt's dad was really chilling and cool to me.
Was really satisfying for Cade to finally go, he dragged things down more than the FBI agent for me. Idiotic repetitive character that just kept dragging Ruth down.

It's not close to the level of BB or any top TV drama. This is a show filled with ridiculous plot lines that for whatever reason is like binge Crack.
Finished tonight. I will watch season 3 but that probably will be it for me. Enjoyed the season enough but there's too much garbage that just floats along in the series to watch 10 full hour episodes. This season should have been 10 40 minute eps.
Agree that Wendy's arc was by far the best part of this season. But the FBI agent and Rachel were in the end just major red herrings... And hell the Snells too. None of it mattered at all.
Ruth's dad was somehow a worse drag on the season than the ****ty fbi character.

Just finished binging the last six episodes and I absolutely love this show. I'd like to discuss a couple of things but don't want to spoil anything for others.
All I'll say is it's got to be up there with my other all time favorite shows but maybe just a rung below (BB, the Wire, the Shield, Peaky Blinders, etc.). I do wonder how much more sustainable it will be though.

Totally sustainable for many more seasons. All you need is another character to walk into Lickety Splits or the Blue Cat and you've got another 'partner.'

I didn't enjoy season 1 as much as others but man did I enjoy season 2.
I am on S2,E5. This season is better. Jason Bateman and Laura Linney are great but kinky hair rednedck girl makes this show.
Finished season 2 last night, great season, enjoyed it more than season 1. Really impressed with Bateman as an actor in this series. Wendy was a great character in season 2, much improved over season 1. I really can't stand the daughter, she's the Skylar of Ozark. Ruth might be my favorite character on the show, she's solid in every scene. Lost several characters in season 2, will definitely miss Jacob going forward. The attorney was such a good addition.

I really expected Jonah at some point to pull a Shane from Weeds when he killed the drug lord.
Having him be a chip off the old daddy block with the laundering is funny actually. Hard to tell him that's wrong. But his gun fascination, hunting, and feeling bad about the old guy dying made me think he would snap. I guess there is still time.

Two episodes of season 2 left. I love this show. Yes, there are some pretty unbelievable plot holes, but it's still fantastic. Jason Bateman is a very underrated actor. And the woman who plays his wife impresses me every week. She really has stolen the show this season.
