Exactly. Which is why I waited 'til that official photo was released, since these costume test pics have been around for a while now. And it's not like we're not going to see something like that in the trailer a few weeks from now anyway.

Spilner - I get your point, and agree that only officially released marketing should be posted here, but at the same, getting upset that you now know Rey is wearing a white jumper as opposed to the slightly off-white jumper she wore last go around is just as ridiculous. Especially when you're already going to see her in it long before the movie premieres anyway. What's the difference between seeing her wearing that ten months out as opposed to eight months out? Do you have a schedule for when you can know certain things about this movie?

Like I said, not a debate I want to have every single year.

I don't get it... lots of people here were speculating that Phasma didn't die. If there's not Christy, this confirms Phasma is gone for at least Ep 9. Phasma will probably turn up as some washed up, jaded, bounty hunter in the future canon (non-movies) I am sure.

I really, really hated how they wrote Phasma. She is supposed to be this absolute baddass, especially hand to hand combat, but in TFA she does whatever they tell her too without even attempting to resist the second they have a gun to her head. Then in TLJ she gets her ass handed to her by a mediocre storm trooper that wasn't able to hold his own in TFA without help.

The wookiee probably kept her from trying much, and Finn needed BB-8 to steal a walker to beat her.

The big issue I have is that someone as high ranking and dedicated as her would have died over lowering the shield.

Yep she was in tighter scrapes before (in the Phasma book) and fought her way out. She would have at least made them torture her before she lowered the shields. I picture something like the clamp scene from Casino but with some lovable CGI character torturing her to give it a kid-friendly attitude.

It was written after the fact, of course, but her novel makes it clear that she doesn't give a damn about the First Order, or anyone. She's all about looking out for herself. The deleted scene from TLJ where Finn outs her to the other troopers supports that as well. He tells them she's the one who dropped the shield and she immediately kills her troopers to keep her secret.

I think I remember watching that scene. I'm glad they cut it, bc it makes no sense in the context of the movies. How hard would it be for Phasma to say something like "stop your lies, traitor. You're the one who abandoned your brothers and the Order."

I bet like 1%, or less, of those who saw TFA and TLJ read her book.

Yeah, is it strange that we haven't seen anything yet? I know Abrams is the mystery box guy and everything, but I remember the force awakens with a trailer a full year before it debuted. It almost seems like a deliberate strategy. Regardless, that strategy appears to be working with me because I'm actually kind of fixing for any kind of info on this.

That first teaser was more of a teaser for the new trilogy than for TFA itself. It was announcing the return of Star Wars.

Peeps from the meeting said it was a Behind the Scenes montage. Interview with Billy Dee Williams and Adam Driver. This is the kind of thing that will get released by Lucasfilm, if not soon, than at Celebration.

There's exactly 1 confirmed Skywalker left, and he's not making it out of this movie alive, so it's not much of a spoiler to call it the end.

Leia is still around at the end of TLJ.

So, I doubt we'll get it, but I do wonder if there is any plan to go further into Kylo's turn. We got basically 1.5 movies worth of Anakin's justification for turning. All we have so far is a line from Leia that Snoke got to Ben, and Kylo's own twisted memory of Luke "trying to kill" him.
