This was my take as well. Also, I got the impression that was their "summer" house and they had owned it for awhile. The contractor was either just doing renovations or an expansion of some sort. Everyone seemed really familiar with the house so I think I they had owned it for awhile. Logan thought it was just a good place for all them to gather and discuss what was going on.

Yeah, i thought they'd owned it for some time and had just renovated vs buy/renovate.

It's sort of exhausting trying to keep up with who is playing who every episode.

But it's usually one or more of the following:
Shiv playing Tom
Shiv playing Roman
Logan playing Shiv

But he's really got Kendall in a vice. I think that will run its course pretty soon though.

Tom thinking he had any shot whatsoever at the big job is hilarious.

Roman continues to be hilarious.

I guess Gretchen Schwartz has had to resort to writing. Things with Grey Matter must not be going well

Can someone remind me who Mo is?

I'm not sure Mo has ever been in the show. Most likely chance would have been when the vote of no confidence took place, but I'm relatively sure none of them were Mo.

And poor ****ing Tom. Gets humiliated by Logan (thanks to trying to follow Shivs marching orders), only to be humiliated further by Shiv ****ing around.

Good, cringeworthy episode.

- Chekhov's doctor made an appearance. Will be interesting how long they wait for the health issues to pop back up.
- I don't think we've been introduced to a Mo? I didn't remember them and I didn't see the name in a quick scan of IMDB.
- Kendall seems to be in prime position, though I can decide if Logan is screwing with Shiv or not.
- glad that Greg made it out only slightly worse for the wear.

"Boar on the floor!" is as instantly quotable as any line on this show. So good.

That said, just when you kind of sort of start to laugh *with* these people, a scene like that comes along to make absolutely certain you know just how utterly terrible Logan & co can be. Wow, that was intense. I can't remember the last time I felt that uncomfortable during a show. Watching adults be reduced to children like that was just brutal. And yet, a moment was still allowed for Tom to show some humanity, which was great. Really starting to feel for him.

Speaking of, how have gone from hating Roman so much (as a person - I love him as a character) to now hating Kendall and Shiv so much that I'm rooting for Roman full stop? This show is masterclass at constantly shifting allegiances not only among the characters, but among the viewers watching these characters.

What a fantastic season so far.

Are you rooting for Roman bc the other two are so terrible? Or because he seems like he's actually trying to get his career together? Interesting thought, I'm not sure who I would want in charge.

I'm still really curious as to what the whole deal is with Roman not having relations with his girls. That's two serious GF's now that say he won't sleep with them. Is he gay or does he just have serious confidence issues stemming from years of verbal abuse from ol pops?

I remember the scene where he masturbated in his office so he has to get off to something. Really curious if the show will reveal more of what's behind that.
TCTTS

A little of both. I wouldn't want him running the company, though. I guess I'm rooting for him to earn respect from his family, and then discover something he's passionate about/good at and do that instead.

I'm rooting for them most of all. Doesn't mean I can't now root for Roman as well.

Curious why you hate Shiv? Is it cause of how she treats Tom?

I like the show a lot but I can say at this point I'm not rooting for any of the main characters. I hope the show ends with Waystar in an Enron like meltdown.

If I had to rank them in order of who I root for:

1. Greg
2. Roman
3. Tom
4. Gerri
5. Shiv
6. Kendall (probably due to pity)

Yeah, I chalk it up to a mental abuse issue. Tyrant, abusive father, his mom also likely verbally abusive (at least in a passive aggressive way, as we saw at Shiv's wedding) and tormented by his older siblings. There was the whole thing about him being locked in the dog cage and debating whether it was fun for him or not at the time. As an adult, he doesn't look back at it as being a fun experience for him. Big picture is you end up with an adult that has lived his life in fear, never had a healthy relationship with basically anyone, and now can't be intimate with a woman. [/channeling Dr Phil]

I thought Logan's quote of the night was "This was choreographed like two dogs f***ing on roller skates!" I lost it at that.

I loved this episode as well, this definitely seems like a group of people that when they hunt, it's canned, setup, weak, not actual hunting. Nit-picking, but that "hunting" bothers me. It would have been much more entertaining if they left the country to go hunt an endangered species, just the kind of over the top I would expect.

No one has allies right now, this family is barely hanging on. It feels like the only people that can count on each other are Tom and Greg, ironically Tom can count on Greg more than he can his own wife.

Connor still going for the presidency, awesome video.

This show definitely has the quality of Mad Men in that none of the main players have any real redeeming qualities, but the story-telling is so interesting that it doesn't matter. I think that's one of the most impressive things you can do, get people invested even if the players are all a bunch of POS.

Can't wait for Holly Hunter to have a sit down with the Roys next week, that's a great actress to put in a room with Logan. Logan overpowers everyone in a scene, she could totally hang in there, really looking forward to that.

Missed the previews for next week. Is she playing Naomi Pierce?

Related to the hunt, loved Tom acknowledging the situation, "We are such ****ty hunters that we're now just going to shoot pigs in a barrel. We may as well throw hand grenades at them."

I think Holly Hunter was playing whomever Frank made contact with over at Pierce? I forgot whose name he said, but it definitely wasn't Naomi. He said he could bring her to Logan with her "head attached to her body", or something like that when Logan asked for "her head on a plate". I'd have to go back and rewatch to see what name he says. I was assuming that was the person that they showed in the previews. Her line was something to the effect of "Pierce wants me to relay the following message". Which I am guessing is something along the lines of Go F Yourself. Should be a great scene.

Oh I thought it was the one who Roman got the name of from his girlfriend - for some reason I thought the name was Naomi.

Yeah, that was by far the best line of the episode.

I believe they said she's the CEO.

Hunter will recur in the second season of the drama series in the role of Rhea Jarrell, the politically savvy CEO of a rival media conglomerate.

Wow, that was a really over the top episode with Logan's "moral booster" evening. Somehow I enjoyed it when Rome was called out and he was holding back tears. Even before that, taller bigger brother holding his cell phone away from him. Speaking of taller, so many scenes crack me up with cousin Greg and his tallness next to others yet it's so fittingly awkward for his meek character.

Related to Greg's awkward tallness, this was a few weeks ago, but his karate kick as he ran around his new apartment a few weeks ago cracked me up.

I thought they were going to shoot a couple of the dogs when the dogs chased the hogs out. Would have been fitting for their hunting skills.
