I'd say middle of the pack for me in terms of the MCU. Loved the cast and loved the production design, but there was just way too much CGI and magical tech for my taste. That, and while I really liked Boseman in the role - even more than I expected I would - Black Panther's overall arc/goals felt a little flat and unfocused...
In particular, it took forever for any real plot or motivation to kick in. Seemingly BP's only goal at the outset was to simply "be king," and that just didn't feel like enough. Then it finally shifted to "get Klaue" but that ultimately fizzled out and became "be king" again mixed with the generic "save Wakanda." None of it was bad by any means, but because it all kind of meandered a bit, and was more predictable than not, I never felt truly engaged.
That, and while I love Michael B. Jordan, I just did not see the "best Marvel villain ever" that so many others are seeing. He was fine and I understood his motivations, which is more than I can say for most Marvel villains, but he just didn't stand out to me at all.
Anyway, overall I'd say good but not great. Glad I saw it opening weekend with the crowd I did, but I doubt I ever watch it again.
