Javier Bardem is Frankenstein's monster,
Perfect. He won't even need makeup.

Is "No Country for Old Men" a prequel?

The Mummy movies were fun. This will probably suck
I don't know if it will suck but it won't be a " The Mummy" movie.

Kind of like how WWZ wasn't a bad movie, it just wasn't a movie based on the book WWZ.

I'm excited for the idea of a monster universe. I loved those classic monster movies. It'd be cool to see how they come together on the screen.

It looks like a fun action flick. I'll wait on reviews then go see it if they are ok.

The idea of rebooting the classic monsters is a great idea, hope they don't mess it up.

Older than Wilford Brimley was when he made Cocoon.

Screw it. I just went from "Yeah, sure, I'll see that" to all in. Whether I like it or not, Cruise always gets me in the end (though I'm deducting a few points for using the Game of Thrones season finale music so soon after)...

One of my favorite parts of that video is the "Come at me Bro" look that Russell Crowe has.

Can we get a Clint Eastwood cameo in the Creature from the Black Lagoon movie?

So, was Cruise's character mistaken for dead when he wakes up in the morgue or is he now undead?

Doesn't have a scratch on him either.

Definitely has an intriguing story line.

Pretty sure he's undead. As I said earlier, part of the plot apparently has to do with him breaking whatever curse has been put on him.

He's busy making an Every Which Way But Loose sequel

Kind of wish they would have saved that bit for the movie. The director was talking about the challenges of having Tom Cruise in your movie since he's always the hero and never dies. This could have been a great moment when he dies in the first act... like Steven Segal dying early on in Executive Decision.

There already was a sequel. 1980's Any Which Way You Can.

When I saw thread title of The Mummy (2017 reboot), I assumed it was a reboot of the Brendan Fraser series and I was bummed. Understanding that it as a reboot of the 50's monster genre, I am now excited as heck to see where this goes!

Will the Universal monsters alli appear in a movie where a group of teenage misfits unite to prevent the monsters from opening a portal to some sort of hell dimension?
This should only be allowed if they include a scene where wolfman gets kicked in the nards.
Wolfmans got nards!

I thought I remembered him being connected to playing Van Helsing in that reboot in this universe. Wikipedia says he left that project. I personally think it would be kinda cool if his character in this is actually a cursed Abraham Van Helsing.

I always loved the old Universal monster movies, including The Mummy.

I thought the 1999 The Mummy with Brendan Frasier and Rachel Weiz was fantastic. Completely different movie. Almost an Indiana Jones movie. The sequel was ok and the Scorpion King films that followed, well, not so much.

I don't really like Tom Cruise but his movies have been pretty good. I liked Edge of Tomorrow a lot, as well as all of his Mission: Impossible flicks and Valkryie. I will be seeing this as well as any other monster movies that Universal reboots.

Scorpion King basically launched The Rock as a movie star though, right.

Apologies if I missed this elsewhere earlier -- apparently IMAX mistakenly posted a version of the trailer and the audio track wasn't quite complete. Definitely worth a look:

I try and think of the dumbest thing possible and they go and make it a reality

*I know I said sequel but a reboot is worse... probably have an all female cast as is the trend these days.

But in fainess, Cruise looks like he could reprise his role in All the Right Moves right in a remake.

since they're making individual Monster movies in this universe, are they planning an Avenger's style collaborative movie based on this--
