Agreed, and like you said, Sam knows that too.. hence why he's taking things into his own hands. He can't afford to wait to become a maester because it will be too late.

Well something has to change. That wall is coming down. The AM's convo with Sam was pretty foreboding. Bran just makes story sense.

I agree. He knew he didn't have much time, so after his conversation with the AM didn't produce any results he stole the keys and "borrowed" the books to take home. The unknown for me is was that his whole purpose in going to the Citadel - just to steal the books and find out that Dragonstone has a crap ton of dragon glass underneath it, or will his storyline there continue and will he help cure Jorah or find some more helpful info on how to kill WW's.TX_AG_10 said:

I'm assuming he eventually gets caught going into the white walker/porn section of the library and has to make a choice between becoming a maester and saving the world.

The timing might be way off, but Stannis formerly occupied Dragonstone and at some point his daughter was cured. Maybe coincidence, maybe not.FightinTexasAg15 said:clinker03 said:I agree. This is a screen grab from reddit, and it's kind of hard to read and get all the info, but this book Sam has mentions dragonglass and a cure for something, because of the work some guy was doing on illnesses and disease.
Could be a red herring or it could all tie in together.

Dragonglass is obsidian and that rock wasn't obsidian
The throne appeared to be surrounded by it; and Sam discovered that deep into n the mountain of dragons the there was s a horde of it. Ilshow impliednhe would write to a Jon about it. So Jon to Dragonstone?

The worst WW we will see is Hodor. I really do hope they don't do that...
If GRRM still had any juice with HBO, you know they will.
Sick ******* loves that *****

Man, if Sam stays in Old Town all for the purpose of curing Jorah, that will be a completely wasted storyline to me. I honestly don't care about Jorah with everything else going on.

You think the book Gilly was looking at is really just White Walker porn?
It's entirely dependent on how available Dragonglass willl become now that Dany has settled in. She's not gonna just hand out the stuff to anyone who asks. The odds of Valryia being relevant in the show again is slim, but i just thought it was worth mentioning as it relates to Jorah's current afflection and what a cure could mean.BowSowy said:
Also, is the secret to Valyrian steel necessary if Dragonstone is sitting on a ton of dragon glass? I suppose it would depend on how much dragon glass, but I figure that's easier to craft weapons from than Valyrian steel.
The show isn't linear so it's impossible to tell. The time between scenes in King's Landing is different than scenes at the Wall and etc. it's been a common topic discussion that usually comes up when a character appears in multiple locations that are far away (ie Littlefinger or Varys).MW03 said:
Do we have any idea how much time has passed?
- The progression of Jorah's grayscale
- Sam's training montage
- The House Greyjoy makes 1000 ships and sails to Westeros
The last would have taken months, one would think.

Yeah that was kind of my point. Lots of jokes this episode, but it last season seemed like all business, so I was expecting all business from the get go. I'm sure there were jokes last season, I just don't remember them.

So Jonah grabbed Sam's arm correct? Haven't rewatched, and haven't seen that mentioned explicitly here on the thread. Would assume Sam is now FUBAR'd?
This part bothered me some - Theon and Yara stole all the best ships and gave them to Dany. According to Euron, the Iron Islands are a bunch of rocks full of bird **** and ugly people. Where would they get the resources to build "the greatest fleet Westeros has ever known" and the people to crew them?MW03 said:

Little Fingers acknowledges his only weapon is knowledge. I feel like he has connected the dots on Jon and is waiting for the right moment to capitalize on his information.
The houses support Jon because he has Ned's blood running through his veins and that was good enough for them to declare him a stark. They make a point of mentioning it.
Will they still feel the same way about the "king in the norf" if his blood is Targ. (albeit also stark from Lyanna).
Unlikely but I can't think of what else he has plans for? Aside from trying to play Sansa and Jon against one another.

I think he just grabbed at the bowl, but I'm not certain. Would be a dick move on Jorah's part. I doubt Sam will get infected.
