Anyone know how i can watch the first episode of this season? Can't find it online or on demand.
As of last week episode 1 was free on iTunes, not sure if it still is.

Couple of great scenes:

Sheriff Hank out by himself with Milligan and the (size 11) Kitchens. Thought he was going to buy the farm.

Trooper Solverson buying bacon from Ed. (But I knew Solverson couldn't die.)

This is the best show on TV right now. Loved the deadbolt on the floor.

Best acting and writing. This is what True Detective wanted to be. So much tension even when you know Lou will live.

Jean Smart and Patrick Wilson are just excellent in this show. Well-written, very suspenseful. Just so good.

By the way, was there any mention in Season One of what happened to Molly's mother? I assume she dies from the cancer. Of course, that doesn't mean it happens during the period of the show.

I dont recall but I got a feeling that ol Peggy Blomquist may have something to do with it.

for Molly's mom, I think all we knew is that she died. Not how. We can probably now assume it'll be the cancer, but you never know with Fargo.

Last night was another great ep, loved the standoff on the Gerhardt's front porch. Lou's demeanor there was fantastic, really enjoy Jeffrey Donovan as Dodd too.

And Mike Milligan continues to be a fantastic character.

Also one of the better TV deaths in a long time. Hot asphalt. Ouch.

What did they zoom in on sticking out of the asphalt at the end of the episode? It was dark and i couldn't really tell what it was.

Great episode this series is picking up speed. Unlike True Detective this season 2 is great showing it can be done after a very successful season 1.

Such strange hints.

The first Kitchen brother to come out of the back room in the typewriter store is carrying a magazine that says UFO.

The bizarre monologue from the guy at the gas station.

The ride on the bus with the voiceover of the conversation between Peggy and her husband. Is that conversation actually happening when they are in bed, later, or are they reading each other's minds?

Also, that female clerk in the butcher shop is reading Camus' book The Myth of Sisyphus. I have that same paperback.

Every time there is a tv or movie scene involving a pre-dug grave, I always wonder what my real response would be if ever put in that situation. I tell myself that there is no ****ing way I'd give up and they'd probably have to shoot me in the back hauling ass out of there, but I guess you would never know for sure until you're standing in front of your own grave - which is something I obviously hope never to do.

I took it as they were basically reading each others minds. Not literally, just more of an artistic expression by the writer/director of what each character was thinking.

I missed the book in the Kitchen brother's hand but there is a most definite UFO theme that I suspect will play out throughout, the overriding theme may or may not have already played out we shall see. I suspect more clarity in the future.

I took the voice over as a conversation previously held or one they had later. They are not mind reading.
LHIOB

I took it as a conversation at another time. I don't think Ed is smart enough to read minds.

I think the title of the episode was the "Myth of Sisyphus" too.

All the characters are a bit like Sisyphus looking for Rye but that boulder will just keep rolling down the hill. Ed (Jesse Plemmons) thinks life will go back to normal now and of course he is wrong and like Sisyphus. Lou is the primary Sisyphean character trying to investigate the crime he is searching for Rye too, wants cooperation from Rye's family and can't figure out what is going on with the KC mob and keeps getting frustrated there as well.

IMO this season is better.

First season was "Billy Bob Thorton is a badass wolf"

This season is a lot more tension

Wow each episode gets better and better. Anyone catch the monologue about the "visitors" showing up in threes. Alluding to Milligan and the two brothers. I also loved when he did the Nixon "not a crook" line before heading out.

Technically, I love the aesthetics. I don't know what it is - the film, colors, lighting, etc. - I don't know. But the show looks great.

I had the exact same thought.

What was going on with Hanzee and Dodd's daughter (Simone)? He made her confess to using drugs, then they end up at Apt. 13 and run into Skip. Was it just Hanzee assuming Simone would be his best bet to track down Rye?

Lou: "We're a friendly folk."
Mike: "No, you're not. You're actually the most unfriendly people I've ever met. And it's the way you say it......all polite. Like you're doing us a favor."

Damn, that was good. And Mike's little finger wave and "Helloooooo" when he sees Solverson was just great.

This season is even better (so far) than the first and I am dying to know where/how/if they resolve the whole UFO thing. As weird as this sounds, I hope aliens do show up at some point.

I took it as Hanzee knows Rye has a place to get high and his niece would know where it was

I loved this line, and it is a great description of people in the Upper Midwest. My territory at work is that part of the country, and all of my clients are exactly like that, very passive aggressive. Part of the reason I like this show so much is because I've actually been to Luverne, MN and most every location they go to, and they have nailed it in terms of the mannerisms of the people.

Love this show. This season is bringing me back to one of my all time teenage crushes Amber Atkins from Drop Dead Gorgeous.
