I read it last year after watch Season 1 and I also enjoyed Galveston. You're right about a very Cormac feel, but it also has a very True Detective feel. Dark, dingy, creepy, slow but at the same time pretty tense.

I highly recommend for anyone who enjoys TD.

I remember hearing that it got picked up for big screen production. After a quick search it was picked up for movie production. Link

I don't think that's quite accurate. Theron gained 30 lbs for Monster. It looks like McAdams is just forgoing the makeup (or makeup to look rough) for this part. Big difference IMO.

Currently giving season 1 another shot. On the fourth episode but it is much better this time around. Hadn't gotten this far but I am thoroughly hooked now.

So, the ending. Glad they finally got the guy but, I figured there'd be a little more explanation about Carcosa and the Yellow King. Anyone have any insight?

Great season, good finale, but not quite as "concrete" as I might've hoped.

What Ruste saw at the end, was he still having flashbacks or was that something else?
