Red Hulk, bleah

I'm probably the biggest Bucky fan here (I named my dog Bucky Barnes, after all) but I'm good with him not being in this. He needs his own path.

I do not like Red Hulk AT ALL in the comics, but maybe they'll do it well here. After all, regular Hulk never really Hulks anymore so maybe someone else can fit that niche. And he is massively more powerful than any Captain America so it's an interesting choice.

Strong editing. And not leaning too much on the Giancarlo Esposito is good. I'm more intimidated by his brief shots here than anything in the Mandalorian. I feel like he can be overhyped.

I guess I am #2 then. I like the idea of him having his own path, but he's never really gotten it and I have no reason to believe he will. No white wolf storyline in Wakanda. He didn't get a chance to take up the mantle in the Falcon & Winter Soldier Show. Apparently, he's not a main character in Thunderbolts. He's been this character for 13 years now. It ain't happening.

Now I agree with all that, but I also think anyone hyping White Wolf was always gonna be way off. White Wolf is a totally different character in the comics (in all ways), so Bucky making that into a title after ~1 year in Wakanda would be pretty forced / unearned. Especially since it's all off-screen and he wasn't in either BP movie (just a post-credits).

But I do agree that they don't seem to know what to do with the character. I'd like for him to fill some kind of espionage niche, but Yelena may be the more popular choice. But more than anything, I hope the rumors are wrong and he's prominently featured in Thunderbolts (even though I also want all those characters to also be prominent…).

Yeah I am shockingly anti marvel at the moment or at least apathetic but that trailer definitely got me interested.

Most casual fans couldn't even tell you William Hurt's role. Ross has been a very minor character to this point, especially if, like me, you never watched the Hulk movie. I'm not even sure if he's good or bad or somewhere in between.

Seems like one of the larger missed opportunities in the MCU. His character was awesome. And it would have been such a cool storyline to have him become CA rather than Sam since he's meta and Sam is not. But that's just rehashing old debates.

Yup and then he could have passed in onto Sam afterwards so we get the same storyline now.

So did they ditch the whole Serpent Society storyline or whatever? This trailer does look good but hearing how bad it was panned that they basically had to redo the entire movie has me skeptical that this is going to be any good

On one hand, the massive reshoots are definitely worrying. That said, it sounds like they were part of a much bigger come-to-Jesus moment for Marvel, after however many recent bombs, where they essentially hit the reset button on the franchise as a whole, and are now finally taking their time to actually get these things right again. They know how much is riding on this one, so surely they've properly fixed it, but who knows for sure.
