I know someone who was planning on it but they were in the Amazon with my mom when she was researching spiders right before she died

Kingsley Ben-Adir. I think he's terrific, personally. Also plays Malcolm X in One Night in Miami. And he's in Barbie too.fig96 said:

If I'm Sony, I don't think I'm happy with Johnson. I'm sure she had no problem taking their money, but now she wants to distance from the movie.TCTTS said:
Dakota Johnson changed agencies a week after the trailer debuted. And is now saying so much of it was filmed in front of green screens that she has no idea what to expect or if the movie is even going to be good or not. This whole thing is a glorious train wreck.
The fact that she changes agents THEN starts to backpedal is intriguing. Maybe they watched the movie and went umm…double aught said:If I'm Sony, I don't think I'm happy with Johnson. I'm sure she had no problem taking their money, but now she wants to distance from the movie.TCTTS said:

BUT, I'm not Sony. So I find it enjoyable too.
I think this is a triple-negative, but I can't interpret it into English......Quote:
So, yeah. Either way it's a complete sh*t show, and more proof that Disney is never not praying to the Marvel gods that Sony doesn't keep f/cking this whole thing up.

I realize this is mostly a joke, but just to be 100% clear, they never filmed any scenes/version with any of the Spider-Men actors...
- For some reason, at one point early in its development, the movie was going to take place in the Andrew Garfield / The Amazing Spider-Man universe. Why? I have no idea.
- However, that iteration was scrapped, and Tom Holland's Spider-Man was ultimately chosen as the Spider-Man who would kind of sort be in the peripheral of the movie (but would never make an appearance). In other words, it would technically take place in the MCU, and that's the version of the movie that was filmed.
- In that version, Adam Scott was/is rumored to play a young Uncle Ben (who would of course be married to a young Aunt May, played by Marisa Tomei 18 years later in-universe, though we almost assuredly wouldn't see her character). Adam Scott's character was/is a paramedic alongside Dakota Johnson's character, who also plays a paramedic.
- For whatever reason, the filmmakers decided to set the movie in the 1990s - and filmed the movie as taking place in the 1990s. Wherein, as was rumored, by movie's end we would see baby Peter Parker in some kind of cameo. However, he would also likely be connected to Dakota Johnson's mom in some way, who, infamously, "was in the Amazon researching spiders right before she died." In other words, they were going to try and give Tom Holland's Spider-Man some kind of ridiculous lore/backstory, having to do with spiders that connected to Dakota Johnson's character's mom.
- It wasn't until after the movie was shot, however, that Sony/the filmmakers realized that the timelines didn't add up, seeing as Tom Holland's Peter Parker wasn't born until 2001 in-universe. So, apparently, Sony then not only insisted that all references/hints/clues to Tom Holland's baby Peter Parker be cut, but without a baby Peter Parker there was no longer a point in making it a period piece. So they recut the movie - and apparently did some (very) minimal reshoots as well - to be set in some generic, undeterminable time period sometime between the '90s and now. Watch the trailer and you'll notice that the cars are all from the '90s, as are some of the clothing styles, but apparently this won't be addressed in the movie in any concrete way.
- As to whether Adam Scott is still playing Uncle Ben, we'll have to wait and see.
How much of this is 100% accurate, I'm not sure, but it all comes from Jeff Sneider, who's one of the most reputable film journalists/scoopers out there, and someone I can vouch for personally. It would also explain why the actors initially thought they were joining the MCU - because, in fact, at one point they were. It wasn't until recently that that apparently changed.
So, yeah. Either way it's a complete sh*t show, and more proof that Disney is forever praying to the Marvel gods that Sony doesn't burn this whole thing down.
FIFYQuote:
So, considering Dakota Johnson's character's mom, and HER history researching Spiders, maybe she was originally meant to be working with Peter Parker's parents in theGarfield universeAmazon, hence the filmmakers initially wanting to go the Garfield route.

critical drinker did a really interesting video on batgirl on why that film wasn't released....but apparently whatever copies of that thing exist will never see the light of day because i believe the studio wrote it off and due to that can never release it...The Porkchop Express said:
