Just finished Winter Solider, completing my week long marathon through Marvel. I had only seen the avengers and guardians before (yes I aparently lived in a cave) .

Winter Solider was damn good. The Thors more eh.


Kind of excited for Ultron......

My girlfriend loves iron man but had never seen Avengers nor Winter Soldier. I introduced her to them both in the past two weeks and now she can't wait for Avengers 2 Thursday.

She's also hooked on Daredevil, but keeps calling him "Darth Vader" because I also introduced her to Star Wars recently, haha.

I actually really enjoyed the Ed Norton Hulk. A whole lot is better than Ang Lee's Let's Make the Hulk But Haphazardly Change Key Details Because I'm An Acclaimed Director.

The Edward Norton Hulk wasn't bad at all. To me it feels a little disconnected from the MCU because they changed actors for Avengers.

Was the first hulk, with Bana, made without regard to the succeeding phase 1 of the mcu? I think that hurts the 2nd hulk, bc apparently it's supposed to be a continuation of the one with Bana, but it never feels that way.

Great: Iron Man 1, Avengers, Captain America 2, Guardians of the Galaxy

Good: Thor 1, Captain America 1, Iron Man 3

Decent or meh: Hulk, Iron Man 2, Thor 2

I don't think any of them or bad, but I do think Hulk is the worst of the MCU movies. I will still watch it though.

The Norton Hulk is not a sequel to the Bana Hulk. It's a reboot without an origin story.

Yes and no.

They took the basic origin story from the Bana version, used their new actors and continued on. The flashbacks seen in the Norton version are basically re-created scenes from the Bana Hulk but with the new actors. Hell, William Hurt was even sporting a Sam Elliott mustache.

They're trusting that you've seen the Bana Hulk movie, so they can gloss over it and give a condensed version in a flashback.

It's a loose sequel. The last scene of Bana's Hulk is set in South America. The entire first act of Norton's Hulk is set in South America. The basic Banner/Betty/General Ross backstory from Bana's Hulk is carried over for Norton's, though only vaguely acknowledged. In other words, the events of Bana's Hulk are honored, but never directly referred to.

It is to me. Lamest/most vanilla villain in the entire MCU. Honestly, though, I feel like IM2, Incredible Hulk, and T:TDW could all be switched out for worst MCU movie. Only reason I put IM2 above them was because there are big chunks of that movie I actually really like. I love that world. Asgard, on the other hand, bores me to death. And Incredible Hulk wasn't so much bad as it was bland.
