As far as speculation on Luke. I'm perfectly fine with a tortured old Luke, even a half crazy luke, but I'm not ok with an evil luke. Look forward to finding out.

Maybe I am not Star Wars geek enough, but I thought all the StormTroopers were cloned from the same person. What has happened that now one of them is a black guy? Shouldn't they all be Asian / Latino / Samoan or whatever Jango Fett was?

That would be correct for Episode 2 and 3 and the clone wars. By the time the Empire gets going the stormtroopers were just basic recruits.

Yeah, I sorta glanced at that page... couldn't help myself, but definitely did NOT read it. Rumors up to this point have been fine... the "Luke is an evil cyborg" was fun. But we are getting to that point where some of this is not rumor, it's a script summary. No thank you!

Now that filming is done and many people "in the know" have scattered to new projects, it will be really hard to keep it all under wraps. Just like there are tons of people itching for any news... there are people that have real movie info and they are itching to tell somebody.

I read the whole thing. Some of it sounds interesting, some sounds dumb. Nothing huge is really revealed IMHO.

Sooo... this is the spoilers thread... is that stuff free game to discuss here or not? Some of us (including me) might have to bail. We are going from sifting through rumors to 'Who wants a copy of Ep VII script'.

I scrolled down that page to the bottom notes (didn't read script stuff) and it said what I guessed in my post above... lots of British folks will have 100% fulfilled their contracts early next year and the factual details will come a flood.

Read it. No huge reveals are there, no major plot points. It's really more of a setting and background of the characters, but nothing about what actually HAPPENS in the movie.

I actually like that shot of the falcon much better. Easier to see what's going on and easier to see the detail of the ship without all the spinning

Maybe, I am hoping that JJ does a good job establishing some of the background on the characters in the movie itself like he did in Star Trek with Spock and Kirk.

First time I've read spoiler-type material for this movie and felt 100% confident in its accuracy. Everything about that post just feels legit. And yeah, all of it is fair game to discuss. I'm currently on a flight, updating the primer with trailer stills/speculation, and now I'll add some of this new info as well. Will finish it when I get home, and (re)post the link later tonight.

Read the spoilers referenced in the reddit link. All sounded pretty damn legit to me. If true, some things previously fuzzy come into focus. But still feel there is plenty of reveals and surprises left to learn.

It seemed to me pretty much everything we have heard so far with better clarity, and the 4chan user avoided all act 3 talk.

I love it. Interesting that they're considering Chewbacca one of the new Big 6.


Does Force-sensitive just mean predisposed to being able to use force powers?

I certainly won't bash anybody for talking about it... but the game is about to change. I've very much enjoyed this thread, but I'm not sure I really want to know 75% of the plot before we even get to next summer.

On the other hand, I could avoid this thread, stay strong, and then have a major plot point ruined by some jerk's youtube comment when I go to watch a trailer.

He may have some insider info, but most of this we have already guessed for ourselves sorting through the old rumors and now with some things confirmed via the trailer. But it sounds good because a lot of it is what we all sorta figured out already.

Yep, agreed. Ford always wanted Han to die in Jedi, so now he's getting his wish. And you know he's going to go out like a badass.

Re: that spoiler link, I will say, the more I think about it, it is weird that the only character name mentioned is the only one that's been rumored up to this point. You'd think that if this person had access to the script or other insider info, they would have mentioned other character names than the ONE that's already out there. And it is convenient how it's all basically info we already know, with just a few extra dots potentially connected. On the surface, it all feels legit, but I'm starting to have my suspicions.

I think I forgot to say that in my posts above, but I thought the exact same thing. Not a single character is named which is telling. Doesn't mean this guy is way off, but I too questioned how much he actually knew.

But I like how we have reason to doubt... I don't want 100% verified spoilers at this point.

Alright, the new version of the comprehensive primer is up, complete with added trailer stills/speculation, along with a few borrowed details from the reddit link above. The more I reread that reddit link, the more I'm convinced it's fake, but there were a few ideas worth borrowing/mentioning. Either way, I'm really loving the way both this page and the movie itself are starting to come together...

I agree. There's nothing holding this "source" accountable and it very much sounds like educated guesses based on what little we know compared with some of the leaked set pics. But it adds some good thought to all of this. I think you can deduce a lot from the trailer and that old couch shot alone:

Couch Shot: Domhnall Gleeson was present so assuming his character is part of the new "big 6" isn't a stretch. Saying Ridley's character is Han/Leia's daughter is simple enough because she's sitting between them. We all know the main sith(s) are present on the couch somewhere and we can eliminate most of the cast we know is good. Also, Driver fits the build of that black cloaked character in the trailer so it seems pretty likely. I don't think any of us believe there will be only one sith... 2 is the minimum and having more in future installments doesn't seem unlikely... so assuming Serkis is the other is pretty easy (his voice was confirmed in the trailer and it was sinister).

In short, I don't think anything in that link was outside of what you can figure out based on official & leaked info... a little imagination can fill in the gaps. But it was cool to see it all laid out as a plausible outline. All signs point to a solid start to this new generation of Star Wars.
