Where did I say it's a critique of me?

I simply thought it was weird that two immediate posts in a row called this guy an idiot. Then I made the observation that it seems to be a trend here, in that a number of posters always jump to the worst conclusions/take offense, no matter how innocuous the opinion.

This is TexAgs. There is NO middle ground. Not even on the entertainment board.

It's AI. You can basically tell/prompt it, "palm trees and grass in the shape of Jar Jar Binks' head." Something along those lines.

I hate that Texags won't support embedded reels anymore.

25 years ago, I was 25. Went to see it 3 times opening day with my best friend, who was also 25.
In two weeks, we're going to see it together, both now age 50, with his 15 year old son and my 12 year old daughter.

Star Wars FTW

I was 32, was single, had just bought my first house and had taken a week off for that move in. Paused all that for 3 hours that Wednesday to make my first trip to a galaxy far, far away in 16 years. Met my wife a couple years later. I took my daughter to see it when it re-released in 3D, probably somewhere around 2012 when she was 6. I have yet to get my wife to sit through this movie in its entirety, but will try to rectify that sometime that first weekend in May.

Was also 25. Saw it in Longview. I actually went out to the lobby to ask them to turn the damn sound up because it wasn't loud enough. At 25. I was so pissed. I think we were still getting those loud ass THX openers and then when the movie started it was basically at 3 decibel's.

If I did that at 50, that means the sound is basically turned entirely off.

The day after the trailer came out, I went to my buddy's office and we watched the trailer online as a quicktime file about the size of your thumb. It took 2-1/2 hours to download.

I remember my buddies and I racing to the theater after school to buy our tickets in advance for opening day. Couldn't believe we were actually getting a new Star Wars movie. Then the collective "what the hell was that?" as the end credits rolled.

I was 19 and I bought tickets in advance for my friends and myself at the Cinemark in CS. Afterwards we went to eat and one of my buddies said "Star Wars just found a new way to give us blue balls." We just kind of stared at him until he said "what? Those things jar jar used on the droids."

I paid $300 to see it a week early at a charity event.

Was it a waste of money at the time? No. Some kids didn't starve and I got to think "What the hell was that?" a full week before everybody else.

No cool story for me. I was in 5th grade at the time and not particularly into Star Wars. And I don't even specifically remember the experience of watching the movie for the first time.

But I definitely remember the lead-up to the movie (and knowing how big of a deal it was), the teaser poster (still one of the best ever), all the toys and merchandise (I had the Darth Maul sliver puzzle), and how awesome the podrace and the Darth Maul duel were. I remember talking about it at school after everyone had seen it.

(I also remember seeing the OT on VHS at my friend's house in elementary school, but I can't remember if it was before or after seeing TPM.)

By the time Episode II came around, I was a fan, and I was excited to watch it. My brother ended up seeing the movie before me, and he spoiled the Yoda fight for me, at which point I downloaded the clip on Kazaa or whatever P2P we were using at the time, and watched it a whole bunch of times.

Bought the OT on DVD as soon as it came out in 2004, and haven't looked back since.

The only ones I don't own on physical media as of today are Solo and TROS.

My brother got to talk to the FBI one time because of his massive sharing of Grateful Dead music on Kazaa during the whole Napster/Metallica shennanigans of that era.
