Lots of Ahoska rumors out there today. I'm going to tag them all except for the fact that Thrawn's SD is in fact called the Chimaera, just like in Zahn's books. It also bore that name in Rebels.

Onto the rumors. These are all from Making Star Wars, which vacillates between the best scoops online and the owner being an unhinged nut job. He should post on TexAgs!

So let's talk first about Ray Stevenson.


There was a lot of speculation when he signed on that Ray would play Captain Pelleaon, Thrawn's human foil in the books who got a great cameo in the series finale of Rebels. Instead, the source says he is playing a guy named Baylon, a Jedi who fled into the Outer Rim after Order 66 with the intent of hiding and rebuilding the order, only to fall to the Dark Side. Possibly after spending time with the Night Sisters on Dathomir. If you read the original Thrawn trilogy, the idea of Thrawn paired with a Dark Side fallen Jedi is quite familiar, as he made an alliance with the cloned Joruus C'baoth.

Next, let's talk about Ivanna Sakhno, and it is no spoiler that Ivanna see a lot her.



The same report says she is somewhat of an apprentice of Baylon, possibly a Night Sister herself, and is hunting Ahsoka for unknown reasons.

Third, about Thrawn. The reports say he has an army that is either rebuilt (like cyborgs) or some kind of zombie thing happening from the Night Sisters Force Magick. That sounds kind of dumb to me on the surface, but we'll see.

Fourth, the sequel era trilogy canon, the New Republic disarmed itself pretty soon after defeating the Empire. This was done by the sitting Chancellor at the time. It forced what was left of the Empire to disarm. Princess Leia argued against it, but was shot down (figuratively). The Republic only kept 10% of its military as a Peacekeeping Organization. This allowed the Empire to rebuild into the First Order fairly quickly. The Chancellor who passed the act is Mon Mothma, and the website believes she'll have a cameo early in the table-setting of the show.

As I'm sitting here putting together my Xmas Lego AT-AT present (which is f'in cool BTW) a strange thought came over me….

For example on Hoth, how did the Snowtroopers that are inside the AT-AT get on the ground? Did they repel? Does the walker bend its legs to get closer to the ground? Something else?

How has it taken me over 40 years to see this peculiar problem?

When it's not in combat, the AT-AT can bend down to about 10 feet off the ground and use a belly ramp to unload troops. In combat, if it's necessary to get troops out, they can shimmy down cables, basically a more efficient, secure way of how Luke got up.

Totally inefficient and time consuming troop delivery system. Coming from the Empire, this makes perfect sense.

I don't think they needed to get out on Hoth until they had annihilated all of the exterior defenses that the Rebels had. Once the snowspeeders were accounted for and the main power generator was knocked out, nobody was worried about the AT-ATs, they were running for it. I doubt they had to repel down.

A couple of rebels with handheld missile launchers targeting the hatches when the troops are repelling down would solve the disembarkation design problems pretty quick.

I don't recall where I got this from but I'm pretty sure the AT ATs fold their legs under and kneel down to load/unload.

I don't recall where I got this from but I'm pretty sure the AT ATs fold their legs under and kneel down to load/unload.
I think it's detailed in one of Zahn's books. Pelleaon is doing some training work in one and gets on one of the recruits for effing it up.

Little known fact of hyperspace is that there are roundabouts at each hyperspace waypoint. Thus, the pilots got to the waypoint and just stayed in the roundabout until they were ready to exit.
