I skimmed the 4 negative and only 1 seemed bad. The other 3 were more meh.

37 more hours...why does it feel like time is getting slower???

From what I can tell (not reading reviews, but I've seen comments here and there) one of the only real negatives to the film is that certain characters don't get enough time. I think we sorta knew this going in though... with all the new and old characters, somebody was gonna get the shaft. It's also a nod to how well the new characters were conceived and the casting of them was spot on.

We knew it couldn't and wouldn't be a 3 hour movie, so something had to give. Awesome that it's going to leave us wanting more and sets up Ep VIII to have Empire like success in terms of really giving us things that simply weren't possible in the VII which has to setup the story.



I'm sure Disney will be happy to give us plenty of books to buy that will go into more depth with these characters. Speaking of, The Force Awakens novel might be a really good read to flesh out more details that the movie simply couldn't get into. I've never read a Star Wars movie book.... hmmm.... I'll probably have to read this one!

I have seen complaints from a few that they do not quite understand the First Order's motivations. My thought process is that this is part 1 of a 3 part saga, and it's going to be awesome and suck all at the same time.

Exclusively at Northpark Mall. Really cool. Anyone I've talked about Star Wars from my parents generation in Dallas always says they saw the original at Northpark and had to stand in line a long time to get in. Didn't realize that was the only theater showing it. I went to those old Northpark theaters in the 90s a few times. Very large for their era.

Most of the mediocre or somewhat negative reviews of the film center around the lack of originality and too much of a remake of A New Hope. And that the film is more of a setup of things to come rather than a stand alone story. They wish JJ and Kasdan had been more bold and creative to seek out a more unconventional story arc with these same characters because the actors are solid. But I don't think any of them were really overly negative, just more disappointed than anything else.

But overall most of the top critics really enjoyed the film because it did harken back to the spirit of the old trilogy. I think the vast majority of fans will really like the film and watch it multiple times.

Meh, I deal with their types all the time. They come to this job and are here till they get pregnant with offspring #1, then they become housewives. Its more times than I can count here. They pulled some little high-school/sorostitute insult about how I like nerdy things and how they're husbands don't because they are so much cooler. I didn't take **** from people when I was younger and I'm not about to start now. If their feelings are super hurt, they can go to HR or the media like the rest of my damn generation who can't handle someone hurting their feelings. Besides, I only spoke the truth.

I'll admit it took me a few seconds to figure out what the hell "Citizens Band" was. Yep, it was the 70's. Weirdly enough, I had to search for that and found it on imdb as "Handle with Care" and was directed by Jonathan Demme!

I'm in the feel good zone right now. I'm anxious, yes, but you can only live an event like this and see a movie for the first time once. So I'm OK with the short bit of wait left cause it will be a little sad when it's over. It's all good between now and then!
