Been a slow SW news week. Anything new TC?

Watched the Rebels clip with the kid seeing the dogfight between the smuggler and the TIE fighter over his planet. Cool homage to ANH - although that part was largely cut out of the movie - and I like the "high-browe-ness" of the TIE pilot.

When Vader appears in this show (as I'm assuming he will) - I hope they do similar to what the novel "Dark Lord" did with him - is have lots of people wondering who or what the hell he is, and not naturally being intimidated by him just because he's commanding a bunch of stormtroopers. By the time of his OT, he's clearly earned his reputation, but in the early post-Order 66 days - the average person in the galaxy probably sees 10 beings as weird/intimidating looking as Vader every day just walking around.

Was waiting on Latino Review's regular Friday update, and if true, this one is a doozy. No big spoilers, but A LOT of potential plot points. A bunch of it we've heard before, but with some clarifications here and there. Could be bunk, but most of it sounds pretty legit, and jives with everything we've heard so far. Main points of note (again, if true):

- Luke isn't missing for 30 years. Instead, he's been missing for only the past 10. So that's cool. That said, there is still apparently a raid on Endor just after the events of Return of the Jedi, and Vader's remains are still confiscated, but we likely won't see any of this in the movie. It may only be referenced.

- Leia is a career politician and leader of the Republic. Han is a retired veteran of the Republic fleet.

- Episode VII will apparently go into detail about the origins of the Jedi and the Sith. That's one of the themes Lucas always wanted to explore with this sequel trilogy - how ancient forces are still influencing events today.

All in all, I'm on board with everything mentioned. This just keeps sounding better and better. Check out the link for a lot more details, though. And again, I wouldn't be too worried about spoilers. We have no idea how much of this is legit, and it's all just set-up stuff anyway; just getting the chess pieces in order. There's one mention of a character who may or may not save the say in the end, but it's nothing unexpected.

I hate the Ewoks more than Jar Jar.

Why? They were at least organized and not bumbling idiots.

If true, that's a lot more satisfying about LUke. 20 years of being a hero, learning more and more about the force and then vanished - Han & Leia having to cope with their lifelong friend probably being dead, then having him re-emerge somehow - I hope Harrison Ford gets his head outta his ass to be an actor again for this.

Need to go pick up the book tomorrow.
