FYI, if you haven't been - the Cinemark 19 at I-10 and the Grand Parkway is a "Luxury" theater - the seats are all powered leather recliners with raise-able arm rests - they essentially let you lay down like you are on a love seat in your own home with your feet up. Also there is a mini-wall between each row so you do not see the heads of people in front of view. Perfect sight lines for movie viewing.
And there is roughly 20 seats in each auditorium. While I like the comfy seats, I think the concept is a bad economic concept, which of course translates to a higher ticket price. And now the AMC at Katy Mills is doing the same thing.
Older theaters need to do something to compete. Sure it's cutting down on capacity but what does capacity mean if people don't want to go to an old theater.

I bet you're going tomorrow to one of those shiny new Palladium theaters
Nope. Been to the Palladium once. Nice place but too far to drive from my place. Going to the AMC at Katy Mills, which is currently undergoing the transformation to the recliners with more space for less people thing. But the theater that I will be watching Rogue One in tomorrow has not yet been upgraded, so my ticket cost per ticket (matinee showing) was roughly $5.

Its not sexist. And its not just any movie.

Its a Star Wars movie and its more about feeling like they're casting girls to avoid being sexist/being overly girl power.

Its still silly though.

And I thought people were protesting because Hollywood hates Trump.

That's probably a more nuanced explanation. And sure, the past two leads have been females, but In VII at least, I didn't feel like they were in your face about it. If they had been like "What?! A girl Jedi? No way that could ever happen?!" Then I might agree with them that it would be annoying.

Was much more an ensemble movie.

Rey Finn and even Po and the the old guard. Plus robots of course.

And they might be back to back but they are 35 years apart in timeline and the others are much more male oriented.

My spoiler-free thoughts:

Holy *****!! That third act. Unreal. To me that was ROTJ-level as far as climaxes go.

It did drag just a bit in the middle, but it was never dull.

But I cannot say enough about those last 30 minutes or so. I wish I could say more but I don't want to spoil anything. Just trust me.

Overall, loved it. Solid 9/10. A true Star Wars movie.

My nephew just turned 9 so we are going as a family to see it Saturday. My nephew loves loves everything Star Wars. He knows stuff about characters I forgot existed. He's really into it to say the least.

Will he like the movie? Please tell me yes as it was his choice to skip having a party and go see a Rogue One for his birthday. He loves loves the original trilogy.
