Its supposed to be a book trilogy that covers events between VI and VII. The author made a main character gay and promises to delve deeply into that aspect in the final 2 books.

How is that "gay propaganda"? If an author makes a main character, I don't know - hispanic - would you call that book "Mexican propaganda"?

The main reason NOT to read it is the way it is written and presented to the reader.

I'll actually agree with the gay propaganda statement. The author went out of his way to do the gay thing with multiple characters. It was unnecessary and definitely part of an agenda as opposed to actually doing something for the story.
But whatever... Others might not see it as a big deal and that's cool. One of the worst books I've ever read, regardless of the authors personal mission statements.

No, and maybe propaganda isn't the right word to use, but there is a big difference. It seems a little risky to try to appease 2% of the population while at the same time turning off a greater percentage of potential readers.
I wouldn't really consider anything that's been posted in there a spoiler yet. It's like 2% actual news/plot.
