There are two ships in that top pictures that haven't been in the series yet that I remember. Also IIRC, that ship in the top picture, second from the right is supposed to be the same ship that Ventress was going to show up again with later in TCW. However, the series ended before that arc happened but I think Filoni commented that the ship may appear in Rebels at a later date.... Unfortunately, it will not be in Ventress' hands.

I was invited by my local IMAX theatre to help install "The Force Awakens" in the IMAX projector a week upon release and I was given the complete specs of the presentation. Here are the details for what one can expect from the "true' IMAX experience of "Star Wars: The Force Awakens".
- The theaters that house a "true" eight story tall IMAX screen will present the film in actual 70MM film reel; presenting the 70MM shot scenes in its full screen glory.
- There will be two 70MM prints running through the IMAX projector to have the film play in IMAX 3D; rest assured it's not the gimmick post converted 3D. It's what IMAX was founded on, showcasing the best and most immersive 3D ever.
- The 70MM IMAX presentation will not play at the "gimmick" shrunk IMAX theaters. Those will showcase the standard Digital IMAX converted format.

There are websites that show TRUE theaters. It is how I found out that the only one in Washington is about 20 minutes away in downtown Seattle. All the other ones are "fake"
quote:I actually normally don't mind that much. RPX, Digital IMAX, the Cinemark X-treme, are all pretty good.quote:This post is sooooooo asking for it.

Don't care if it is a Star Trek gif or not.
quote:Same with me. The real IMAX for Interstellar was incredible because so many scenes were filmed using the IMAX camera.
The only other time I made the effort to see a movie at the real IMAX was Interstellar which was amazing.
quote:I'm pretty sure Moody Gardens is a true IMAX
So in Houston this would be:
Tomball - Silverado (15/70mm - just depends on if they get the film print, which I am not sure is supported... ugggh)Edwards Theater (digital)
Might have to drive to San Antonio

quote:70mm is a larger film that has larger dimensions than standard film or digital projections.
Why is 70mm better than digital (4k?) ?

I could've sworn Edwards Marq'e in Houston is true IMAX. (At least it was when I lived there in 2013.)
