I'm looking forward to the new book coming out (bridging Ep VI & VII)... but the comics and everything else is a bit much. If I read and watched everything I'd burn out quickly I think (which I'm sure will happen sooner rather than later considering how many movies they are gonna throw at us).

I'm content just watching the movies. I don't care about anything else.

Reading HttJ right now and it's a quick read, but honestly isn't very good. I don't hate it and am not sorry I'm reading it, but it's pretty lame about halfway in. Lots of trope.

Honestly I don't think that a novel is a great storytelling medium for Star Wars. For something that is so grand and visual, the book comes off pretty vanilla. Comics work better.

Hope someone grabbed a screenshot.

J.J. is walking the entire Hall H crowd down the street to watch a live Star Wars concert presumably conducted by John Williams. Stormtroopers escorting. Holy crap.

I've said it on here a dozen times... Hollywood needs to go back to something like this actually BEING the trailer (obviously with just a bit more footage from the movie). The opportunities are unlimited in combining actual footage, behind the scenes footage, and interviews. Some really cool stuff could be done that gets audiences even MORE stoked for a movie by showing LESS footage.

didn't Spielberg used to be big on that?

One of my buddies texted me that youtube link an hour ago and I just watched it now on my phone.

Speechless

I am 41 years old and this is the movie event of my lifetime.

I really don't want to geek out here. But I watched Star Wars on my dad's lap in a single screen cinema in Port Angeles, WA in the summer of 1977 when I was 3.5 years old.

This is more than "the movies". It's family, it's my childhood, it's just something I can't really put words to but it is more than a movie.

Flame me out. Don't care. In December of this year I will return to the West Coast to meet up with my parents, my brothers, their wives and kids, and we are going to see Episode 7 together and I simply can not wait.

There's something so damn cool about that shot of the set / Abrams at the :50 mark, where it tracks quickly and transitions to the actual shot of the movie. Studios/movies could do all kinds of inventive stuff like that for trailers.

Finally watched just a bit ago. Goosebumps.

Urban Ag and I are the same age, and my genuine earliest memory is watching Star Wars from the back of a really ugly station wagon sometime in the summer of 1977. I had to cover my eyes when Obi Wan pulled out his lightsaber in the cantina.

I've got a nephew who's 2 1/2 now, and the idea that his dad and I can share this with him in a year or two, and that dads and kids all over the world will be doing the same thing, is truly magical.

It really is Fig. My sons love Star Wars. Magical is the right term. Three generations are going to be together in December to see this. Just awesome.

Man, from everything I have seen and read, JJ just is just f'n nailin this. So much win. Can't wait.

This movie is going to be on another level.... I won't believe this will happen... But what if Jurassic world ended up holding out and beat the force awakens in the box office!
Urban Ag

won't happen

this is going to smash every record. I'll take any bets. Biggest movie of all time.

Didn't watch the first one until I was about 2 (in 1983); been a StarWars fan ever since... We used to watch Star Wars, ESB, and RotJ about once a month until I was 12 or 13 as a family...

I don't think I realized Episode IV was called "A New Hope" until I was about 11 or 12... it was always just "Star Wars" to me

That was better than any trailer, more of a pre-sporting event hype film or featurette.
