The way he said it with this childlike innocence was hilarious after being so calm and cool all season. Awesome character!

Agreed. His speech pattern and the fact that apparently he's some master assassin who abides by a zero-sum life/death code of balance makes him one of the show's most intriguing characters. I hope he continues to play some role in the future.

If you can't handle that, you probably shouldn't even be reading these threads.

Or like a million threads before this one, the title says "for people that haven't read the book". It's not a difficult concept. From that quote, essentially you're going to post stuff from the books and we'll just have to get over it. You could have just said that.

There wasn't room in the title or I would have put "for those who haven't read book 2". Season one/Book 1 is done. Posting spoilers about season 1 is obviously allowed. And since Book 1 lines up with season 1 it seems obvious to me that if there was something left out (Brotherhood) of Season 1 and people watching Season 2 are confused, then answering a question about it might help the overall viewing experience.

That doesn't seem that confusing. And I'm still confused as to what spoilers PooDoo was referring to?

The thing is you don't know what might spoil something in the show until after the season is over.

You don't know how they are going to describe the brotherhood. For all we know it might be covered during Arya's escape of the next two episodes.

You guys popping on here with answers spoil the suspense and speculation of what is this Brotherhood they are talking about.

It would be like someone getting onto a Lost thread and telling everyone exactly who the Others are before it is revealed in the show.

I figure if it's on the HBO viewers guide, it should be fair game to discuss on this thread.

Getting back on track
quote:

This brings up a question for me. He killed the two guards at the gate who I would assume would be innocent in his eyes. So will he be looking for two deaths from Arya's side to keep things in balance? Methinks fat boy is about to go bye-bye. But that will suck if he kills Gendry too.

Now that's an interesting thought....could get interesting if he and Arya start trading off deaths for each other.

If he only killed two at the gate then arya only owes him one life

It's an interesting concept. In his convo with Arya he took issue to throwing the balance out of sort, but he was essentially blackmailed. The idea of him coming back later on for her to balance the debt should certainly be remembered.

I was somewhat miffed that Arya essentially wasted her 3 kills. The torturer was justified I guess, but she made a point when she was in the prisoner pen to recite her enemies over and over. Her character is described as cunning and clever, you'd think she'd be more forward thinking with her choices, although situation did dictate her decisions.

He killed at least three because there were two propped up on spikes by the gates and one on the entrance when they passed unless I got confused while watching.

Either way, the only reason he killed those people was to save himself. He said if he helped her escape, she had to 'unname him' do he wouldn't have to kill himself.

Funny that he pointed out that Arya ' had no honor', a trait that got her dad Ned killed, by pulling the 'wish for more wishes' trick from a genie by trapping him. Normally, that would've probably pissed her off that her Stark honor was questioned, Arya just shrugged it off and didn't care. She's learned from her father's mistakes and from listening in at Tywin's table. Honor doesn't pay, and it doesn't get your ass out of captivity.

I'm going to miss Arya and Tywinn's banter. That's been one of the highlights of the season thus far.

I haven't finished the 5th Book yet and s--t is spoiled in that thread so where the f do I go?

Everyone on here has been overly courteous to not spoil anything. Asking those of us who try to make things a little more clear to not post on this thread is asinine just because we have made it through an extra book or two.

For those that are like me who have not read the books and have no intention of reading the books any time soon, mentioning the book at all is annoying. Just because you feel it is "better" explained in the book, it doesn't need to be compared and I don't need to be "filled" in. The show is it's own entity. Let the show play itself out and let us gather what we can from watching the show.

As far as the show goes, I think Arya was somewhat tricked by how ...charming/intriguing Tywin Lannister turned out to be, especially in comparison to The Mountain.

Even as a book reader, I agree. That **** would piss me off if I hadnt read the books. If they want more info, they can go to the HBO site or look up wikipedia. Don't bring up book stuff at all if it isn't necessary because you might ruin something they bring up later than the show and it takes all the fun out of viewers speculating on what will happen next.

this is a thread for those who haven't read the books. I don't know why some of you can't hold your water on these type of things. We had the same issue last season and eventually created another thread.

Title says otherwise. No book info should show up here.

Somewhere else. Wikipedia. Google. HBOgo. Make your own thread with a single question. This thread is titled for those who haven't read the books

Those stuck in limbo (i.e. read some but not all books) should just bump the above mentioned thread.

Can we PLEASE lose the debate about what is or is not a spoiler in the book/show/commercials/watercooler conversation/pamphlet I read in the library/something I heard form an old lady in line at the 7-11 - and get back to conversations about THE SHOW??????

most of us on here (I believe) would like to dicuss the show, its scenes, the story so far, etc. If you want to debate spoiler vs. non-spoiler , whether you read the book or not, whether it matches the show or not, etc., please go start another thread, and leave this one to discussing the show.

TIA

A Season 3 thread should be titled:

***Game of Thrones-Season 3-Show Only - NO BOOK TALK OR SPOILERS!***
SuperAg05
How long do you want to ignore this user?
This entire forum is completely filled with whiny biatches who will find any and every excuse to complain about what they perceive to be a spoiler.

*OMG, you REMINDED ME WHO TYWIN WAS EVEN THOUGH HE WAS EXPLAINED IN BOOK ! - SPOILER!!!!*

*WHAT THE HECK MAN! WHY WOULD YOU SAY THE NAME OF SOME RANDOM CHARACTER WHO WAS MENTIONED ONCE IN BOOK ONE WHEN WE SAID THIS WAS THE NO BOOK THREAD EVEN THOUGH WE ARE ON SEASON 2 AND NO ONE GIVES A WITCHES TEET ABOUT THE RANDOM PERSON YOU NAMED?!?!*

For you who have not read the title of this thread:
"***Game Of Thrones - Ssn 2 (4 Those That Havent Read The Book NO SPOILERS)**"

To me, and most others who are aware of this season, this means that if this is Season 2, and that means Book 2, this thread is for those who have not read Book 2. Book 1 discussions and fillers are FAIR GAME in this thread (IMO). If information from Book 1 spoils your enjoyment of this series than I really feel sorry for you because you are mentally disturbed and really should seek some professional mental help.

Others feel differently. It seems more logical that the title infers all show-watchers who haven't read any of the books.

I plan to read all the books once the show has concluded, whenever that may be. That doesn't really fit in to your narrow, angrily misguided perception of why people don't want book information in this thread.

Judge, look at the person who STARTED this thread (Stive). Now look at the post right before your last one (Stive).

Realize that this thread is not for people like you, it is for people like Stive because it is HIS thread. If you want something different, go elsewhere.

Feel free to re-read my posts on the last few pages, you seem confused. It's not that big of a deal to me, just offering up my perspective. I enjoy discussing the show.

It's really not worth all the crying and e-raging.

Because people have been chiming in when people have been hella confused on this thread for practically the ENTIRE thread.

The original publishing date of GoT was in freaking 1996.

You can buy it on your kindle/iphone and be reading in less than 5 minutes. I have no sympathy for people who are crying about season 1 spoilers.

Now my comments on this episode... it had a lot of filler, but some of that filler included a naked Talisa. May I just say daaaaaaaaaaaaaaamn, I wouldn't care about a bridge for that either.

The Jaquen Hagar part was pretty solid as well, can't wait to see Arya and him interact again. Last 2 episodes should have a lot of action with Stannis/Davos coming to KL, and Tywin finally on the march... can't wait!
Judge
How long do you want to ignore this user?
Well, since I haven't read the books I don't know how the large scale battles are depicted. They've mainly glossed over them in the show, like when Tyrion was knocked out before the fight.

I'm curious to see how they handle these last two episodes in that regard, as it looks like we're headed for two different large-scale skirmishes. Lannister marching towards the Stark forces and Stannis' invasion of KL.

And yes, we are all very curious to see what they've done with the battles.

Not looking forward to waiting another year for next season.
Losman
How long do you want to ignore this user?
They have handled the battles pretty well by showing the aftermath and in a recent ep a few brief scenes of King Robb with his bannermen screaming The King in The North.

The next episode will be epic
