good summary of why Naonka is still around.

I keep harping on it....but it is amazing how little Purple Kelly is shown. Must be an all-time bad selection to pick her on the show. I don't remember anybody (of course types like her are easy to forget) going this long into the season without ever really getting any face time or conversations or tribal council time. The one show where she is featured might be the one where she goes home.

If Benry's name wasn't Benry, I don't know that we'd know he was on the show either.

Probst talked about it in his blog last week (in referring to why there was a double elimination)- the producers' ideal set-up is 16 contestants. But, apparently, they have people that drop out at the very last second (we're talking like already in Nicaragua, and just change their mind). So they have to have extra players to prepare for that. Well if they go 18, then there is going to be an uneven number of males and females on each tribe, so they then have to go 20, 5 males and 5 females on each tribe.

Is it that hard to pick a few alternates, drag them out to Nicaragua in case somebody quits, and then once the game has started, just send them back home? Surely somebody would volunteer for that. 20 people is too damn many. Now, obviously Purple Kelly and Benry are boring, and that's why I have no idea who they are, but it isn't helped by the fact that there are too many people in the cast.

I thought last week's episode was the best of the season so far. It at least showed a lot of scheming and planning and vote counting and such.

terrible, terrible season

again, brett from russell's first season was shown as little as, if not less than, purple kelly. sometimes, they have people they're waiting on to introduce; sometimes people are just boring and they don't get into too many mixups or don't play a key role in any big decisions early on.

gotta say, i was mildly shocked they actually took out marty. it seemed like sash/brenda just weren't that concerned about marty (given how many other opportunities they've had to take him out). on the one hand, i couldn't stand marty...on the other, he seemed to be one of the few (or only) people who could really mix things up and proactively affect the game. we'll see, but this it probably doesn't help this season if everyone just gets behind brenda/sash and let's them run things til the finals. maybe they get down to a number where people get a clue and figure out that they will need to take out brenda/sash.

I too was surprised that they took Marty out. Good for them as I couldn't stand that smug sonofa*****.

If I'm playing that game right now I'm making sure I've got Dan right up next to me as he's ****ing worthless.

I completely agree with the discussion earlier that there isn't really anyone on this season to like. I find that I have 2-3 people that I cannot stand and everyone else is just sort of there. Naonka I know is a hyperbole of herself right now (at least I hope so, despite her claims that she's being herself), but I absolutely loathe her. She is utter trash. Jane makes me cringe everytime she opens her mouth.

I may stop watching this season, although I have committed so much to the season and series, that I can't give up on it. I found myself turning over to hour 1 of Hell's Kitchen pretty frequently last night. Voting out Marty killed the watch-ability of this game.

I thought it was interesting when he approached Brenda, that he said Sash says we're saying Naonka and voting out Jane, even though it was his plan all along.

Even after all the BS that Naonka pulled at tribal, I can't believe that she is still in this. I guess I am more of a player like Coach who wants to go up against the baddest and the best to make the game noble, as opposed to the trash like Naonka.

The watchability of this season not withstanding, for those of you wanting to vote out Naonka......WHY???????

Do you understand this game at all? She's never done that much in any immunity challenge so she's really not a physical threat. She's dang sure not running around stirring people up and creating alliances, so she's not a threat that way.

She is THE PERFECT person to take to the final 3. She's more than likely (unless they're doing some crazy editing) not getting any votes because she annoys everyone and they can't stand her. So if you're Sash and Brenda, why do you want to take her out? She's the ultimate lightening rod and takes all of the anger and heat away from you and makes you look like an angel in heaven!!!!

So unless she becomes a liability to you (ala Ben and Russell 2 seasons ago, see my above post) then you keep her around for as long as possible.

the look on marty's face when he got that 4th or 5th vote was just fantastic.

As anyone noticed that with the exception of Fabio....everyone else who has gotten into it with NaOnka has been voted out.

A thought hit my head. Sash and Brenda are doing a great job of controlling this game because I dont think people actually see them controlling the game.

Right now the dominant alliance is Sash/Brenda + Naonka/Chase.

I think Sash and Brenda have fake ostracized NaOnka and made people think they are not with her when in reality the two of them realize NaOnka is the perfect person to take to the end.

The smart move for Sash/Brenda was to go with the majority and take out Marty because it doesnt piss off the rest of the people on your side, and it doesnt make it seem like you are in control or nothing more then swing votes.

Glad I'm not the only one that isn't interested in this season. I basically just watch the intro, fast forward to challenges and then to tribal.

I don't think the editing is helping it anymore either. I don't see any need to invest 10-15 minutes in watching the discussions at camp before tribal when they rarely play out as edited at tribal. I know they are trying to make it exciting but it just makes me want to skip the talking.

At a point, for me at least, human nature would kick in. Yes you're playing a game and she is a pawn. But there are other worthless players you can hide behind, you don't need all of them. You are stuck living with her in what are already miserable conditions. Every tribal she makes it through adds like $5K to her bank based on the payouts they get. At a point, I would just have to say "you don't deserve anything, you aren't getting anymore, you're out of here". No redeeming qualities whatsoever and I think I'd snap. Is it good game play to keep her? Sure. Is it bad gameplay to get rid of her? Not really. I'd probably have a little bit of cockiness in my own game (which would surely be detrimental and keep me from winning) that I wouldn't think I needed to hide behind her or be up against her to win. ***** is crazy, and at some point, I'd feel compelled to teach her the lesson that you can't do/say whatever you want and get away with it.

Watching Marty scramble was one of the only entertaining aspects of the show. Even though he's not as smart as he thinks he is, he did bring a lot more strategy-wise than a good chunk of the rest of the cast, and if you let him hang around long enough, he may find an angle to turn the tables on you.

Naonka is awesome. I'd keep her around for the sheer entertainment in what seems like an otherwise monotonous boring time out in the jungle.

Marty probably played the worst game in the history of the game. He used his personal feelings over common sense.

Brenda should win...it'll be Brenda, Nanonka, and someone else at the end. Maybe the gay dude, maybe not.

give me a break. I'm no marty fan, but he played a decent game...he certainly wasn't as smart as he thought he was, but he made some moves that helped him get further in the game. he was ultimately screwed a bit by the tribe realignment, but what can you do. the thing against jane was more about putting the target on her. he was already scrambling, so it's not like he screwed himself out of being in a safe position. he had to scramble and create chaos, so that's what he did. doesn't always work, but he was at least willing to do so, whereas plenty of other contestants would have just done nothing and accepted their fate of being the 10th our or whatever.

he did ok, but i think he would be gone first 3 episodes in about 15 of the previous 20 survivors. he was hurt by the tribe shuffle, but he was GREATLY helped by the original old vs young concept.

Agree with Doug. I think Jane is the one that made it personal between the two, while for Marty, I just saw him trying to stir up **** on the best targets he could find - which includes Jane with the sympathy/popularity concerns and then Naonka at the opposite end of the spectrum. Marty lasted at least 3-4 weeks longer than I thought he would.

Best episode of the season? Granted it's a sucky season...but probably the best game play so far.

Agreed on this being the best episode of the season. I didn't fast forward through everything.

I was amazed that no one in the group thought it might be a bad idea to surround the fire with wooden trunks that held their belongings. I'd guess at least some of them would have been camping before and realize how bad of an idea that was.

Its amazing how retarded everybody is. Brenda didn't even ask Sash for the idol. She just sat there and hoped her "confidence" would keep people from voting for her. Then Purple Kelly casts the lone vote for Benry. WTF? She not get the memo from everybody else?
