Well, and that she did something that Walt wouldn't forgive, and to make him realize things won't go back to normal.

^^^^^I think that was part of her reason, but when it was showing scenes from the next episode, I think it shows them in a motel. So to me it seems like it is becoming a "relationship" and has turned into more than just pissing walt off. Furthermore, she talked to her boss about why he did it and seemed like she was trying to understand, with Walt it has been totally different.

But even going back to last season, you could tell there was a a history between them.

Did she eff him and that's why she quit the first time?

She lied to her sister and Walt as to why she quit.

I noticed everyone was wearing their blue ribbons for autism awareness month.

I think those ribbons were for the plane crash.

Agreed, it is like they seek out those grey areas, then have everyone over time dance all over it. Characters going back and forth between their respective issues they all have to deal with, and right and wrong become blurry in the process.

Also, what was the last thing Skylar said to Walt in episode 3 of the current season? Check out the title of the episode.

just caught up on all the episodes. fantastic show, not much more to say.

but I find it amazing that anyone is trying to make skyler out to be worse than walt. she's not good, not by any means. but walt has pinned her in a corner, and basically forced the life that HE'S decided on onto his family. I realize he was desperate and thought this was the only way to save his family, if/when he dies. but we've also seen plenty of evidence that he's doing it for reasons that have nothing to do with his family. his pride is what has led him to do some of the dangerous things he's done. the show does a great job of showing how he comes to his decisions, but it certainly doesn't justify them.

for those who think skyler is a/an ________ (insert feminine derogatory term), what should she do at this point? her husband has been lying to her for her entire pregnancy, missed the birth, and now has admitted to being a drug dealer (sorry, manufacturer) and that all this money he has is from that. and when she says she wants him out of the house and wants to divorce him, he basically says "I don't care, I'm staying and I'm going to pit our son and probably your sister/husband against you...your move".

walt is wholly responsible for the situation his family is in, and now, their options have been severely limited (not to say their options if/when he died wouldn't have been severely limited but at least they'd have had a bit more agency). Skyler would have had her sister/brother-in-law to draw support from and I'll bet they'd manage one way or another. but now Walt has given them no choice.

Good post Doug. You said it much better than I did.

I loved the inferior product part. Like meth heads know what good stuff is!

Hank has really lost it. With the RV pics, I don't see how he is not going to figure it all out.

He has promised her to quit and to never do it again. I guess she just prefers thiefs to drug manufactures. Also, Skylar is just not wanting a divorce, she wants him to have no contact with the kids. That is just too unreasonable to me.

skyler is not without fault here, I don't think anyone's saying that. she's made some bad decisions, but my point is that her's are largely based on the (very bad) decisions that walt has made and the consequences those decisions have had on their family.

put yourself in her situation...you've just been pregnant for the past 9 months. during that time, your husband lied to you about manufacturing meth, along with all the other things he was doing to cover this fact up. who knows what he's involved in, or what he's still involved in. why should she believe him when he tells her that he's quitting? and then on top of that, he won't let her divorce herself from him and the situation. one person doesn't get to decide that the other person must stay married to them (especially when that person has done some pretty despicable things).

so yeah, when she shacks up with beneke, that doesn't make her a hero, especially given that she's helping him cook the books (by convincing themselves that it was for the greater good by not having to fire people, just in the same way Walt tries to rationalize his actions as a means to save his family). but i think it's clear that he has backed her into a corner where she can't disassociate herself from him (neither physically nor legally) and she's lashing out in one of the few ways she can.

they've both done bad things, but I just don't see how what she's done is even close to being as bad as what Walt's done.

For me, a lot of shows by Season 3 start to lose their way, but Breaking Bad keeps getting better and better.

Part of what keeps it so good is because the first season was so short, second episode was short...

It's the HBO theory that doesn't allow for fluff.

Loved the episode tonight. Even though it was "slow", I felt like like the story progressed quite a bit. Can't wait to see how Walt and Jessee's relationship keeps deteriorating, it's making for great television.

I thought this season was slighty worse then the first 2 seasons. But not anymore. After watching that episode I can say hands down this is the best show on TV Ive seen in a while. There are so many ways they can progress it from here.

Good episode, but what relevance did the opening scene have to the rest? Usually they touch on the opener sometime in the episode, or at least show how it came about, but they didn't this time.

one of the best of the best.

I thought Walt's lab tech was just learning the system so the cousins could have Walt sooner, but then then the fast food meth dealin dude turns over Hank.

The scene in the RV was briliant.

It doesn't always tie to the episode, sometimes it ties to the season. That could have been a flash forward ala season 2. Or it could have just been there to provide an additional reason for the brothers to be impatient. They killed a police officer so they know they need to take care of their business quickly and get back to Mexico.
