Don't forget that he also had to undress, put those clothes back on the nurse, strip Charlie, and put on those clothes. Plus, surely Walter would have autopsied the dead nurse and realize she hadn't been shot even though there were bullet holes in her clothes.

Did we actually see Charlie fire his weapon? I don't remember. But if not, he could have been whacked before firing, giving the bad dude time to do all of this before he fired the gun. He even could have shot the nurse in the back to mimic those wounds.

I thought the same. Probably was killed before shooting his gun. The shapeshifter changed then shot the corpse.

How cool was the typewriter thing?
Did anybody see if the shape shifter had six fingers? Just wondering because of the hand they show before going to commercials.

interesting episode last night, although didnt further the overall plotline very much (except for the super-hearing - what is up with that? i bet spock implanted a super hearing aide in her ear or something)

anyway, did anyone see the observer. i looked hard at first but forgot about it later.

Didn't see the observer but I hardly ever see him.

Another good episode. I like the Sam Weiss character coming in because I have always liked that actor.

The super hearing is a side affect to traveling to the other universe, or at least that is what they alluded to. that is why she is going to see the guy at the bowling alley. This is also confirmed by Walter saying something to the affect of there being consequences to traveling into another universe. There is going to be a big Walter reveal in a couple of weeks, I just have a feeling.

This reminds me of that guy from the first season that teleported out of jail, got sick but also gained superhuman abilities.

Observer was on the train. This was one of the few times I actually noticed him and it was probably one of the episodes where he had the smallest amountof time on screen.

I just watched my recording of the episode, and I loved it. Very good "monster of the week" episode.

Olivia needs to hone in that trigger finger, but good dodging skills by Peter, very Bush vs. shoe like.

He looked pissed after almost getting shot in the head!

He wasn't on the train. I was completely unsober during that post and mixed up the current episode and an episode from the first season (episode 3 I believe actually) that I had just finished watching earlier that night before the new episode came on. If I remember correctly (not a guarantee at this point) he was in the field outside the farm house in the new episode. There should be a website or two that will tell you where he was in each episode if you want to check.

How they caught this I have no idea, but here's the Observer from last week's episode(picture from eastereggs.fringetelevision.com)

As for tonight's episode, I didn't see him other than the obvious at the end, but I'm sure they'll have him on there if he's in it. Great episode though, especially liked the end. I love that it feels like there's still a ton we haven't figured out. Next week looks even better.

Edit: picture won't work but here's the link

Lots of info dude. I seriously suggest finding it online somewhere, but...

*********SPOILER**************

The "human bombs" were the side effect to a treatment of some chemical agent exposure in Iraq. They were set off by a particular radio frequency and detonated by the Colonel who was nearby but out of harms way. Turns out the colonel was using his human bombs to kill the guys in the black trench coats and briefcases b/c they were gathering information about humanity. this information is supposedly being used in order to eventually wipe out humanity. in the end, Dunham and co stop the 2nd human bomb from exploding, and the intended target (another dude in black trench coat and a briefcase) gets away and meets with the observer.

******end spoiler**********

America's destiny is not of our own choosing. We did not seek nor did we provoke an assault on our freedom and our way of life. We did not expect nor did we invite a confrontation with evil. Yet the true measure of a people's strength is how they rise to master that moment when it does arrive.

My question is... Why not just go up, shoot the guys in the trench coat, and take the briefcase...

Why blow up the human bombs

A little unnecessary yes???

BillgoCU

Maybe it is unecessary, but maybe they have tech to thwart that, like how the observer knew what peter would say when he was in the graveyard... so the assisn has to have no knowledge of his/her true mission.

Or maybe the colonel is crazy.

Or maybe he wants so show the "enemy" that "we" have tech they do not have.

How long do you want to ignore this user?
Another solid episode. I think one of the underlying plots is going to be that all of these attacks they have been investigating (the human bombs were already covered, but I'm thinking of the bio weapons from last season, the guy who could make people suicidal, etc.) were actually being produced in preparation for this war that's coming with the other universe. Kind of glad to see the doppelganger Charlie plot come to an end, I was worried they would drag it out too long.
Gradin
How long do you want to ignore this user?
I still miss the real Charlie.

interesting episode

I read that Fringe's ratings are a bit down lately. Just a harsh time slot.
J. Walter Weatherman
How long do you want to ignore this user?
Yea, why did they switch from Tuesday? I'm sure it had something to do with American Idol but just about any night would be better than Thursday.

Anyways, not really a whole lot of plot advancement but still an interesting episode.

How long do you want to ignore this user?
Fox thought it could move Fringe to Thursdays, where ad rates are the highest of any night of the week and it has been getting killed for years, and along with Bones, build a stronghold on the night. They thought Fringe's cult audience would follow the show to a new night, and possibly get a boost from the very popular Bones. Bones is performing well, but the 8pm hour on Thursday is the toughest on TV, and Fringe is suffering.

Ultimately, FOX is currently up 40% on the night in the young adult demographic on the night. Every other network is down. So Fox may be OK enough with Fringe's performance to keep it around after this year. The question will be if they think they can get equivalent ratings from a significantly cheaper (read "reality" ) show, which makes the hour more profitable. As much as the young demo is up, it's hard to imagine that being a complaint for Fox, but only time will tell.

It's currently the 6th most DVR'ed show on TV, and the 4th in young adults. It doesn't even cross the top 25 in viewers, so that's a pretty big jump. Not that it helps that much, because DVR viewers don't pay the bills, but it certainly doesn't hurt.

Disagree. The end of the episode confirmed a couple of things from the main plotline for me.
