Altivia takes out Bell and Olivia with her phaser set on stun. She finds grenades on Olivia. Problem solved.

Peter was already leaving willingly and she could see that. I have a feeling that shooting everybody would just make him even more unwilling to go back and help Walternate. Walternate doesn't want his son back, he wants to destroy the regular universe just as Peter noted in the show.

The plan may have been to replace Olivia. Remember they said they were looking for her, not Bell, Walter, or Peter. Fringe division is under control of the DOD so Walternate may have devised a plan to get to them from their side.

GREAT finale. This show is one of the best on tv.

Agree with the above poster, I am sure it was all a plan. This show is way too mediculous to let major holes appear in the plot.

Some other thoughts:
- Kentucky Grilled Chicken
- Red Latern / Red Arrow Comic
- Interactions between Bell and Walter were all gold. As well as the two Olivias.
- I knew Bell would die being that he announced his retirement from acting not long ago.
-I knew the minute Bell woke up from the grenade blast that the Olvia's were switched.

It's hard to believe he is almost 80. At least we got to see Spock one more time before he hung them up.

From what I could tell, the three Cortexifan (sp) kids were characters from previous episodes, i.e., the cancer dude, the bald kid that had a dozen people ready to jump off the building, and I couldn't remember where the fireball chick was from...

Walternate told Altlivia something during the fight and she got a funny expression on her face. That's when they put the plan in motion, in my opinion.

So how did the other Olivia know how to open the portal and send them all home?

I don't think she did. My guess is that the "door stop" did all the work.

Nothing to add except great finale. Hope they keep it up next season.

They mentioned what happened to the alternate Bell... he was killed in a car accident before he would have met Walternate.

All the cortexaphan kids were introduced in other episodes. Some were supposed to have been killed (if I remember right) but that might have just been the government cover story.

Also, looking at the alternate map of the US it looked like the western coast of California was different... right along what was the San Andres fault line. Does anyone remember what happened at Madison Square Garden that got it quarantined? Was is the Lebron James signing?

Overall, I thought it was a great finale. Lots of good stuff revealed and new questions raised. I did see the Olivia switch coming, but don't think it will be long-term. I think her niece will figure it out pretty quickly and then her mom will clue Peter in.
