this word makes me sad as someone who is involuntary celibate. that word had been co-opted by weird woman hating manchildren when it really should be reserved for those of us that are too ugly to **** or too shiddy of a person to date

Men do it too and it's gross. I would never. I politely decline to answer even basic questions about my child on dating apps. If someone persists in asking, they get blocked.

I would guess men do it to show they are not shallow hookup seekers but are mature and have life experiences and show you they have real priorities besides finding a date.

I like it when guys posts pictures of their "princess". It shows me that I need to swipe left and not invest any time.

I will and have dated someone with a kid, but not little kids.

Way to shut out the widowers

I agree, I think my limit at this point would be if their kids were at least of High School age. That way if they said "Your not my dad", I could respond with, "you're right, I know how to make your mom scream with pleasure", mic drop and walk away.

soo what are people with kids supposed to do? No I'm not looking for someone to raise them, but they're kind of a big part of my life? Gonna have to be okay with them being around. Not hiding that and wasting anybody's time

sounds more like this thread should be about dating with kids, not dating over 35

We went out a few times and he is a great person, but we really don't have any chemistry so he's just going to remain a friend.

I think there are a lot of women that would love to meet a man with kids. I know one person that really wanted kids. She got divorced with no kids. A few months later, she met a man with 3 small kids. She lives with him and treats them as her own. That just isn't me.
Yeah you're probably right. I finally gave in to the pressure and made a hinge account over the weekend. I've actually been a little surprised with how many matches I've had. I'm in Houston too and noticing a ton of aggies.. makes me wonder how many are on here

Lots of women don't mind. I became a stepmom at 26 and I definitely wasn't deterred by the fact that my ex had kids. I adored them (still do, we are very close) in fact.

At 40 I'm not interested in being an involved stepmom to young children again though. So much heartache involved in loving children who aren't yours. Really what I was referring to as icky is when it appears that men are using their kids to virtue signal that they're such great guys. If you have kids, that's not a deal breaker by any means. But you don't need to tell me what a great dad you are. If you are a great dad, I will see that as an attractive quality and it will be obvious as I get to know you.

For the women it seems like it's more "my last relationship failed and I want this one to make me enormously happy and I've watched The View enough to know I'm a strong and powerful woman and the focus should be totally on me if he's serious."

My daughter has a single friend who ain't getting any younger who has been out with several guys that have kids. One of them seemed really great and a good fit for her. She doesn't want to share time or attention.

She will die a spinster. Her dad is widowed in the past two years and he has women beating down his door. He's getting more dates than his lovely single daughter. But all of his dates also have kids that are grown.

To each, their own I guess. I don't have a dog in this fight, but I'll say that men with kid pics can prove some bit of virility while women with kid pics are more of a baggage situation.

Hoping I'm never in the situation to have to consider the prospect of raising another's children.

Dudes with kids are more desirable than women with kids. Women 35+ with no kids are damaged goods for some reason or another.

Of course I am making generalizations and 9 out 10 women who read this post will be triggered. To those, I urge taking a deep breathe and accepting the truth about men and women.

No kid is better off with you ****ing their mom.

Thats all it boils down to.

When you don't date single moms … you are really doing it for the kids.

Don't get divorced

Two people have to decide to get married.
Only one has to decide to divorce.

I have exactly none of those things on my profile. I also use unfiltered pictures. I've been asked on 3 dates in the past 2 weeks.

One guy deleted me before I actually answered. One was clearly looking for a hookup. One I accepted, but it definitely won't be more than friends. I was honest and told.
That's good, I think the majority just disappear.

There's probably a guy OLD profile starter pack somewhere on reddit too. Over here friends say it would be boat pic (because, Charleston), "look at this fish I just caught!," driving selfie in hat and sunglasses, looking pissed off at the gym, one taken from a bar, and the optional and universally hated posing with a dead deer.

Driving selfies are weird. Is it the lighting? Is that what started the trend of "look at me I'm wearing a seatbelt and have on sunglasses!" photos that are so prevalent?

Guys - little inside info - she's over 35

lol yall keep posting celebrities and are like- "she's over 35 you wouldn't date her?" Like this is some kind of gotcha.

It's not.

Celebrities are the exception to almost everything.

1) I guarantee you she looks different without a team of stylists, hairdressers, platic surgeons, and makeup artists
2) As a celebrity she sits on the upper echelon of the dating hierarchy regardless of age. Because she is a celebrity, dating her confers alot of advantages that dating a 20 year old run of the mill hottie would not- money, prestige, etc. So to accurately judge if her status in the dating pool took a hit as she aged we would need to compare her to a mid 20's celebrity counterpart, not a mid 20's regular jane.
3) willing to **** and wanting to date with an eye on marriage are 2 different things.

But oh yes....let's toss up pics of the hottest women in the world and pretend that is how MOST women over 35 look.

LOL it's so sad that yall are so bitter about reality that yall bring it up every chance you get.
You are such a Cliff Clavin…

Well actually historically the Clavens were descendents of the Egyptian Clavonesei who were the close advisers of the pharaohs in Egypt and later Alexander the Great, Charlomaine, and the later Abraham Lincoln.

Valued for our large amount of knowledge and wisdom the Clavens have been advisers to most of the greatest empires ever to exist.
