The increase in mass shootings in recent history correlates almost directly with the increase in FPS video games. Ie, pac-man and Defender vs Modern Combat and Fortnight . We're training and desensitizing kids with the most realistic programs possible from the moment they can hold a controller.

Secondly, the legal age to own a gun is arbitrarily set at 18. Move it to 30. At least the 20 year olds will be nervous while driving to commit mass murder. Maybe they'll run a stop light and get busted.

The increase in mass shootings correlates almost directly with the decrease in the number of working fax machines.

So any long gun?

In my example, assault rifle would mean any long gun. But I never said a word about gun control or banning guns. I said let any lawful citizen over 30 own as many as he desires. I also said stop training and desensitizing kids on mass violence with ultra realistic FPS video games. What good comes out of those games?

Where do you get the term "assault rifle"?

How in any way is a fax machine or beeper related to mass shootings?

Didn't you ever have the "guns and butter" lesson on mutual exclusiveness in Econ 101?

I don't buy it. Where's the mass shootings in Korea, Japan and Europe? These games aren't only played in America.

I'm very serious. How is this not obvious to everyone? Asia and Europe don't have our 2nd Amendment. The kids playing the mass shooting training programs (video games) over there don't have dads with safes full of assault rifles.

And the fact that most are done by people in their 20s is a fact. We could keep the 2nd amendment clean and in place, but change the age of ownership to 30.

Still don't buy it. The number of people that play video games and then shoot people is less than .00000000001%. There are a lot of factors involved in why these are occurring, many of which have been said on this thread, and video games are at the bottom of the list. You know what became popular around the time these mass shootings started becoming more common? The Internet, a much likely bigger cause.

Very good point about the internet, and I agree. This week, 1000s of people on the edge are being bombarded with El Paso and Dayton and they forming very bad ideas. Much less likely without the internet and a phone attached to their hand.

Although, as you pointed out, the rest of the world has the same internet.

And more people drown in the summer but nobody is blaming the increase in ice cream sales.
