I'm a product specialist for a very large global corporation. My division of the company manufactures high end capital equipment products for analytical laboratories. My job is to interface between every sector of the product (R&D, marketing, service, commercial, etc.) and do whatever needs to get done to launch successfully. Officially my role lies within product management and technical product marketing.

I love the job and it fits my personality well (not to mention I have a kick ass boss). However, it requires the ability to deal with people of all personality types and the typical political bureaucracy associated with working for such a big company.

ER Nurse. I'm the one that does all the work for people like Dr. not yet Dr. Ag while he takes all the credit.

Worked for 9 years in the busiest ER in the City of Houston. Love the ER but approaching 60 years old and the spirit is willing, but the flesh is weak. Currently working at a freestanding ER.

I sill absolutely love my work.

Work in sports and have for years. Currently the Program Manager for a baseball/softball facility. Manage day-to-day ops and scheduling for our facility. Create and promote our skills, camps and clinic programs. I also give lessons as requested.

1) When you're a good superintendent, the PM has no reason to ever show up on your job. (Except for mandatory client meetings)

2) I work for a pretty badass company where my PM is more like my equal/partner than a "boss". He does his job well, I do mine well, and we are both happy to stay out of each other's way. Our boss (one of the owners of the company) oversees us, but for the most part stays out of our way and we operate as a pretty damn good tag team.

3) I do my job well and and am paid well in return. Most PM's of similar age/experience would probably be jealous.

Realtor - mainly residential sales

I love my job. It's what I've wanted to do since I was in 6th grade. I love the relationships I make, the juggle and deadlines... one of my favorite things is finding the one. I've had several clients buy sight unseen or fly in because "I found THE house". That's always a bit nerve wracking but feels good when they confirm you've hit the nail on the head.

I do the same thing, 14 years now. It has its ups and downs and being billable/chargeable can be challenging at times but in general I like the job, even though I will cuss about conditions for field work at times.

You can always go the agency route, but you won't make near as much money, but you would get govmt benefits and more time off. I got a call from one of them a while back asking if I may be interested in joining them, but after discussing it, the pay cut would have been too drastic and I would likely never get back to the salary level I was making at the time.

Reservoir engineer for a mid-size independent O&G firm. Still employed in this industry so I like my job very much. I REALLY like my job twice a month.

I do the same thing and started three years ago as well, I was just fine until December '15 when my company decided to let go the three PM's that managed all O&G clients. Then the company decided to tell all our O&G clients that the company was divesting itself away from that field. That lasted all of six weeks until they changed there tome and decided that we needed those clients. Now the company im with has a very large stigma attached to it and has been loosing great scientist's left and right.

I work in compliance at a broker dealer/RIA doing investigations. Love it! Don't hate me, Stive.

I'm one of the weird ones that likes the compliance people. I prefer things to be done right, and want the jackwagons weeded out and beat down.

I wish more were like you! I bet you're glad the DOL stuff is being put on hold. I know we are.

It's generally dirty and unglamorous but I love it and I love my critters.

We were already in a pretty good position anyway so I'm actually kind of impartial to it. But from the compliance side of the fence...yeah....I can't imagine you guys are anything but happy about any delays that show up for that thing.

We built a 45 gpm TEG Dehy out there through CB&I. Actually a duplicate of one we built for CB&I out in Bakersfield, California. This particular unit splits the high pressure discharge flow to two towers, One high CO2 and the other regular saturated natural gas I believe.

I write software for some big gigantic ass company. It's a job I love because it affords me to do **** outside of work and be around a bunch of smart MFers. Hit me up if this sounds like a job you'd like to have..

So real answer: I'm a business bankruptcy lawyer. I restructure/liquidate mid-size companies (~10m in assets up to ~just south of 1b). Usually, the hard part (firing everyone) is already done before I show up so it's just a scrap for cash. At my firm, it's just two of us running the practice (we need an associate badly) and I'm the only one in my office so I enjoy that I'm really cloistered and just close my door.

It pays the bills but I've been really checked out lately. My office drinking is probably approaching don draper, season 3 levels.
