Work at an Oil Refinery as a Process Operator. If you like climbing towers and opening and closing valves and can troubleshoot and use common sense to solve problems it's not a bad gig. Pays pretty damn good too. Not bad working 14 days out of every 28 and as much or little OT as you want.

Also one weekend a month and two weeks during the year i blow **** up in the National Guard.

Department manager at a museum. I have a large team of people under me that are mostly great.
Pay is horrid and the upper admins are semi-functional vegetables, but seeing guests come in to have a special day somewhat balances the cons.

Estimator for commercial GC here. Love the company and people. Small, private, 50 years in business, and unbelievable market share in what we do. Great perks having so many subs and vendors that we use as well, especially during holidays. It's always nice to personally know several plumbers, electricians, carpenters, Hvac guys, etc. who you know will go out of their way to make you happy.

I'm CPA. Just this month, I decided to work for myself rather than someone else. So far I like it. You don't realize how much admin stuff the company takes care of for you until have do yourself!!

I'm an ER doctor.

I treat the sniffles that could have waited to see their primary doctor, I pat the hands of anxious middle age women who stopped taking their Zoloft, I have mastered the art of telling people "you don't need antibiotics for a virus", I get yelled at by the subspecialists for making them do their job that they are getting paid to be on call for, I prolong the life of gomers who for all intents and purposes died 8 years ago but the family still wants me to "do everything", I sign forms legally allowing me to keep teenage girls in the hospital against their will because they decided to take 7 measly Xanax in the hopes of ending it all, I get cussed at, I get spit on, I have punches thrown at me, and occasionally I get to save a life.

I love my ****ing job.

High School golf coach. I've been a head baseball coach at the HS level, & a HS football OC. Fell into a golf gig a few years back, and never looked back. Nice kids that are smart and motivated, good parents. Haven't taught any classes in over twelve years. Just middle school golf lessons in the morning, then high school kids in the afternoon. I'm am lucky.

Reservoir engineer for a fairly large independent O&G co. Decide the which, where, and how of our drilling program for a pretty active area of the Permian Basin. Very cool to see your impact when a decision you made causes a great well or interesting results. And the pay is good. Love it.
